Let's face it, RP mentioned they are going a 'new direction' and Perez doesn't fit. Then Vettel got announced. Toto has bought a huge stake in RP/AMR. He is friends with Stroll Sr. Toto is concidering his future, and there's substancial plausibility that he is not just able but motivated to go to Aston Martin. He's been in contineous contact with Vettel the moment he was 'released' from Ferrari. Otmar mentioned Vettel never was 'in' and they're happy with Sergio, just moments before that announcement of taking a different 'route'.
I would read that as Otmar being part of something to 'change'.

Otmar is "American," Williams is now 'American' if you may. Otmar is THE guy to lift Williams from it's current slump.

There's a lot to say for that, but in the end, it can be nothing at all either.
Toto bought a "huge" stake? I thought it was 5% which got diluted down to 0.95%...

Toto has repeatedly said his future is with Mercedes, just he needed to decide whether that was on F1 and in exactly what role. He is highly unlikely to suddenly give up all his responsibilities at Merc and move to a midfield team. Why would he want to?

RP/AM are unlikely to become regular frontrunner any time soon. Even with the new regs and financial structure.

Did Toto sell his shares in Williams as part of the sale?
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Apparently he sold his original 15%,but got the last 5% back because the buyer hadn't paid, but now he can (has? Article is unclear about that) sell it for real this time.

If staying with Merc, as he seems to want to do, possibly a constructed position such as 'director of motorsport' would allow him to keep his interest but farm out the day - to - day stuff.

Is it allowed to talk livery here?
If so, it has more black on it now, from the last race :)

I prefered older, more white livery, but anyway...
Besides livery, have there been any significant upgrades on the FW43 at the last few races?

Does anyone know if being in the hands of new owners, will Williams now begin to take more parts from Mercedes ? Gearbox, suspension ect ? As it was always Frank who never wanted to do so. Now he's not in the picture this could change, and potentially fire Williams up a little in the order.

I had not thought about that but it would be a smart idea to do so. It is probably too late for 2021 but they could design the 2022 car around the Mercedes rear end.

It depends on what is the ambition of the new owners. If their ambition is to be maximum 3rd or 4th in the constructors, then they should buy more things from Mercedes. If their ambition is to win, then they should strengthen the departments in question and develop & build those parts themselves.

Frank & Claire stuck to the later philosophy. They failed miserably from 2018 - 2020, but that is the only way to be at the top.

Williams confirms 'number' of COVID-19 infections in team.
In the past week, eight people from Formula 1 have tested positive for COVID-19, the FIA reported Friday. The results come from a new series of tests conducted between Friday, October 30 and Thursday, November 5. It concerns 1,781 tests in total.
In light of this, Williams' Formula 1 team confirms that it is responsible for some of these cases. Team members of the formation from Grove have been affected by the virus during both the Grand Prix of Portugal and the race at Imola. Williams reports that all team members are treated in line with the guidelines and are in self-isolation, the infected employees are being replaced with team members from the factory.

Williams Racing can confirm that Acting Team Principal Simon Roberts has tested positive for COVID-19 prior to travelling to Istanbul for this weekend’s Turkish Grand Prix.

Simon returned a negative test on Monday during the team’s regular COVID testing schedule, however after displaying minor symptoms he underwent a further test this morning which returned a positive result. Simon is feeling otherwise well but will now isolate for the required 10-day period as per UK national guidelines whilst supporting trackside operations remotely this weekend. Dave Redding, Team Manager, and Chief Engineer of Vehicle Design, Adam Carter, will assume his responsibilities on the ground in Turkey.

Simon has not been in close contact with any other members of our race team, and the team will continue to operate trackside as planned.

As a team, we have been taking part in a robust testing plan alongside adhering to the FIA Covid guidelines.
