What is the reason to put more downforce if you sacrifice so much speed? That also doesnt explain why we cant follow the Williams, Haas, Ferrari and Alpha Tauri when the car is leagues faster than them.

Is there any other speed circuit coming apart from Monza? I notice that the car is good on speed circuits.

Dude. The car is meant to run in front of these cars. It’s fine in clear air. It ain’t setup to just clear backmarkers. It’s setup for quali and race pace

I still don't get it. The car is leagues faster. Shouldn't it be able to catch the backmarkers and clear them quickly?

You clearly have never studied physics. The car is leagues faster IN the corners. But a more slippery car will accelerate to speed quicker and hold it when they reach Vmax. Only with DRS and being close enough are they able to clear those types of cars

It's true that I am not a physics person. I am an accountant. However Mercedes,Red Bull,Racing Point and Renault don't seem to have problems passing slower cars. I don't see why Physics affect Mclaren so much and not everyone. Especially wind. It affects Mclaren a lot.

They’re overtaking a car ahead that do not have DRS themselves. RUS had DRS making overtaking him infinitely harder. Also those teams you mention are way ahead on race pace compared to NOR.

I'm with you on that but the car should be able to catch up slower cars and today that doesn't happen.This race has gone badly so far.

Can the Renaults do that position change like that?

They’re tire managing. The hard will do a one stop but not at full pace from stopping in lap 2. Others have tires 16/17 laps fresher and don’t have to do the conservation phase.

Wasn't that too dangerous of causing a collision? Shouldn't they get a harsher penalty?Bothers me that we can't catch Gasly.
