Yes, but using the words "fall guy" and "Hamilton" in one sentence is utterly stupid this season.
Why?
Because he will cruise the WDC home even if they have 5 SC each race and hand him a penalty whenever they can.
And how exactly does that have a bearing on the issue?

So in your own words, he IS the de facto fall guy when they attempt to artificially tighten up the championship becaues it's he who suffers relative to the other drivers.

He doesn't have to not win the title to be the fall guy. It just means that to be the continued victim of various rule changes, decisions, or engineered circumstances, whether they ultimately DO affect the WDC standings at the end of the season or not, he is the fall guy or the one who loses out in their attempt to make things more competitive overall.

This is the core in nearly any regulation (besides safety) in a racing series.

Well now you're arguing a different point. But at least this means you recognise the point I was making beforehand, that Hamilton is the fall guy.

But regulations have to apply equally to all competitors, and not brought in retrospectively.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

So? That's not a reason to punish him and not others for the same infractions. We should never punish people for doing well, only lift people that are not.
Felipe Baby!
