After sc period tyre warming was very bad almost cost them a place.

You forget the reasons behind that. Lewis has DAS so is able to keep heat in his front tires. Max does not have that. They both were a minute out on the rest of the field (including Ricciardo) so they (especially Max without DAS) were already sitting there waiting, getting more colder tires for a minute more. And when the rest then arrives we have the restart.

This is actually a bit unfair I would say. But luckily max managed to retain P2.

ricci's tyre was also warmer at start. after that it is usual things, fastest second fastest and others

I'd be amazed if they'd get away with a duct through the endplate like that.

The rules state:
The front wing endplate is defined as the bodywork created by the union of two volumes.
The first such volume:
e. Must fully enclose a minimum of 95% of the virtual endplate surface.
f. Over its forward-most 150mm, measured in the longitudinal direction, must in no
part be distant more than 10mm from the virtual endplate surface, while over the
rest of its volume must in no part be more than 6mm distant from the virtual
endplate surface.
g. Is a single volume which contains no apertures and any intersection with any lateral
or horizontal plane may only produce a single closed section.
The second such volume:
h. Must have no part which is distant more than 30mm from the virtual endplate surface
towards the car centre plane. Any part inboard of the virtual endplate surface must
lie in its entirety between 75mm and 85mm above the reference plane.
i. Lies in its entirety between 75mm and 110mm from the reference plane.
j. Is a single volume which contains no apertures or slots.
k. When viewed from below, has a boundary which does not contain any external local
concave radius of curvature smaller than 200mm.
Once the two volumes have been defined, a fillet radius of up to 5mm will be permitted
where they intersect. Any cross section of the unified volume with a lateral vertical plane
should contain only a single closed section.
Note that apertures are expressly forbidden.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Is this an argument they are making where the rules apply to end plates but not foot plates?

The titanium screws on the top knuckle of the upright are so unusual. What could they be doing up there? Is the top part actually a vanity panel with a hidden knuckle or are there other internal things behind held within?

Amazed people think there is a vent there. It's quite obvious that it's just concave like the outermost edge of the endplate right next to it.

My first thought too... the concavity and the glossiness of the CF might be playing tricks with our eyes... but if you look at the other side of the wing, the concavity seems to be very deep... like a hole

It just looks kind of like there MIGHT be one there and everyone has jumped on it. Im 100% certain there is no duct there. The "openings" are also tiny so wouldn't really be achieving much, just getting in the way of carefully managed air being pushed around the tyre.
