Well done Bottas, solid job. Makes tomorrow interesting as it seems RedBull are not as fast as they say again. Gasly only 3 tenths off Max =D>

And all the above is why this non consistency in track limits is so stupid.

Did he or didn’t he? Which corner? What are the rules at that corner?

It. Should. Be. The. Same. For. Every. Corner.

Hmm, wasn't Ham even more over the track limit than Alb ?
Or did I watch a different corner ?

If those corners are being policed, his time would've been long deleted by now. Which tells me, they aren't. I'm not talking piratella btw. Didn't see a replay of Ham exceeding @ piratella.
If Ham is the man then rules are not working, this is what we are saying as you said with a different intention.

Unbelievable speed from Mercedes, sometimes you just have to stand in awe, it is impressive how fast the car looked in qualifying, it's almost scary. 1:13.7 around here...

At least it shows no one will have trouble with tires tomorrow.

I don't get what you're saying. He didn't exceed track limits on any of the corners that were being policed. Are you hinting at preferential treatment; cause I'm pretty sure that's not what happened.

Completely agree. Watch 1994 Imola qualifying on YT. No one is exceeding track limits. Drivers are exceeding track limits in the modern era because they know they can get away with it.

It is silly but those are the rules and everyone knew about it.

And now they went back using the line and not the curb as reference... In my opinion Imola is a track where going wide has some level of punishment and should be left to it's own natural devices, the FIA just creates unnecessary confusion.

Yeah I wish they'd be more consistent here. Either use the curbs or the line everywhere.

The nonsensical track limit policement from Portimao continues. FIA dug their own hole. Either set the whole track limits to be the white line or the kerb and stop this nonsense about choosing which corners to enforce punishment or not. I really dont get it. Why is FIA letting the drivers dictate the rules??

P.S. I am not attacking Hamilton or any driver. This goes to the FIA clowns.

No it shouldnt. Most corners are “self policed”. You leave the track, you lose time. Penalty already there. The corners that are being policed are the ones where leaving the track doesnt lose but gains you time, hence why they are policed.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

George Russell putting the Williams in to Q2. And people hereabouts still doubt the lad has talent.
Or the car is Q2 worthy, Latifi just cant drive it. No disrespect of Russel, but all the result shows is that one driver can drive that car, the other cant. Not unlike the situation at Ferrari or RedBull by the way.

On the Sky broadcast they said that track limits were only monitored in a couple of places because it was being done manually and they couldn’t monitor the whole track.

Onboards are incredible here. Real sensation of speed.
