Hi!
What would be your prediction times for the pole in this totally uncertain qualifying section?
Would you say it will be rather 1'38 or 1'55?
I thought the same people that re-surfaced other grade 1 tracks lately had done this.
On some tracks grip was there immediately after resurfacing. Barcelona, new silverstone, hungaroring to name a few. Laptimes fell by second instantly, no need to wait months for surface to "set in". It's clear cost cuts were made with this sub-par asphalt.Mogster wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 13:36I thought the same people that re-surfaced other grade 1 tracks lately had done this.
The track surface is anything but “open” so that bit doesn’t make any sense. The tarmac looks very well laid, I’m sure it hasn’t been done by the local council road crew... The problem I’d imagine is it needs a little bit of wear to expose the aggregate and provide grip, there’s a lot of oil on the surface still also.
You know the old saying, "you can't control the weather, but you can control not resurfacing the track 10 days before a grand prix"ismail1991 wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 14:27It is 11 deg celcius out there, it is winter in turkey. I dont think the asphalt is only thing to blame. It wasnt logical to set a race weekend on november in turkey
You are right, I am not saying the resurfacing was not a mistake. I am saying setting a race weekend in winter in Turkey was a mistake. Would f1 cars be able to race in 10 deg Celcius in rain at Spa or Nurburgring?nzjrs wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 14:33You know the old saying, "you can't control the weather, but you can control not resurfacing the track 10 days before a grand prix"ismail1991 wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 14:27It is 11 deg celcius out there, it is winter in turkey.
