Why I guess just supporting Williams with free engines would give Toyota the kudos desired at a fraction of the cost?

If Honda are to race in 2009, shouldn't they put KERS aside and concentrate on the basic package? I imagine KERS complicates matters much much more, and at the moment they should focus on staying alive and hopefully racing. And should they still be around next season, pick KERS up where they left off. Basic survival would be the main issue to deal with, and the extra departments such as KERS should take a back seat in 2009. Not to forget that they still have to secure an engine deal! So in essence, they still have to mate KERS to the new chassis and the new engines...

I wouldn' be concerned with that mx, I'm rather convinced that the Brackley team haven't given their KERS-system much thought since December. Not much else either perhaps, what would have stopped them from presenting an 2009 car if they had one?

So what about these rumours of Virgin brand taking over the team?

Unlikely, the Virgin group has money problems of its own.

If I had the money and interest to enter F1 by taking over an existing team, I would compose myself until the end of this year, when there surely will be a couple of more prospects to choose from.

Virgin F1

Post

It has been revealed that a one of the parties interested in F1 is the virgin group.
This news came to light yesterday and was confirmed earlier today that one of the serious contenders for the bid was Virgin.
Bernie has said he would be more than happy to welcome Branson into F1.

Branson, Brawn and Button who'd have thought it.

I remember when I used to visit the SpeedTV forums in 2004-5 mentioning Branson's name with an F1 entry, and have a few times on this forum as well.

I only hope that it is a serious endeavor, and not just another "thrill of the moment" for Sir Richard. It could seriously be a top team in 2-3 years, especially if Branson lets Brawn run the show instead of Reynard...

Didn't you say that USF1 would be dumb NOT to buy Honda? And now you are saying that anyone should not?

According to sources if virgin enter F1 they will be keeping the same management team which i think is counter productive because in my opinion most of Honda F1's problems were down to Nick Fry. His inexperience shone through on a number of occasions. Hiring a PR company that had never dealt with F1 is just one of these examples.

Fry for cleaner.

For Conceptual: To the best of my recollection, I have never used the expression dumb whatsoever on this forum.
However, I do believe that the way things have developed lately, that unless USF1 is in a terrible hurry they should await 2009 before making decisions of any kind.

Hi guys!!! Is there anybody who is drawing some preveiw of how the new honda team livery will look like??!! I know is not confirmed yet but I think a livery for a "Virgin Racing Team" would look great or even a Embratel Petrobras Racing Team!!

If anybody has or is drawing such preveiw just for fun, please share with us!!!

Don't forget Bruno... or (unlikely) Barrichello
