Fry for cleaner.

If Adrian Reynard is party to this deal - as Gp.com think - Fry will have little chance to keep the job, hence his attempts to engineer a management buy out.

If we imagine for a minute that those Branson rumors are correct, I'd be surprised to see Honda supporting an arrangement including Adrian Reynard. Please correct me here, but it didn't quite work out between those parties last time around, did it?
Wouldn't David Richards make more sense to Honda if they intend to not only give the team away, but send cash with it as well? That would of course be a "hostile-bid" to Nick Fry.

Didn't Fry work as a managing director under Richards?
And why would Honda care about Fry anyway?

There you go, with Mr E's trusty "public support", how can anyone refuse the committment to a 700+ workforce involved in a money-burning operation such as Grand Prix racing?

I just hope if they do buy the team they won't sell it on to zavvi two years down the line. black and lime green would look awful.

Before you get too carried away about the Virgin-Honda link, read this:

Sounds like Branson is a lot less than 100% sold.

Seems credible, if nothing else, Branson is probably aware of his "Green" image. What I find difficult to understand however, is where does Ross Brawn fit in this sorry charade, is he being loyal to somebody or just seeing out his contract?

I can't imagine that Brawn and Fry have anywhere near enough money to dent an F1 budget -- and I don't see how they could be more successful raising money than many others.

I think Brawn is:
1) seeing out his contract
2) being driven by a bit of pride
3) is being a little naive

For donskar;
Again, a most credible analysis. However, Brawn's situation makes me wonder a bit, the way I understand things the man has no degree or anything, started out as a machinist with Williams and worked himself up to that position he had with Ferrari.
Now he finds himself in this mess, did Fry promise him something spectacular involving Alonso, which suddenly fell apart when Fernando declined?

Branson saw and took the opportunity for free publicity in the English media. He has no real interest in F1 and just led true fans on. Honda has a slight chance of returning and if so it will be crippled. Here's hoping

I agree, and now he's talking about the much need changes in Formula One for Virgin to enter, of which the cleaner fuels won't happen until a few years from now. Honda most likely won't find a buyer and will not contest the 2009 WC. As sad as that is for the sport, not because they're a great team or anything, but because there are two less cars competing.

Brawn is in a huge mess at the moment; he left Ferrari for Honda, now Honda have sank and Ferrari have taken care of his former position (with an Italian none the less).
