[ 2020 ] Mclaren F1 Team - Renault

I'm not suggesting the circumstances are too similar, but one race ago we were doom and gloom after qualifying and had we not been too cautious, would have finished on the podium in the race.

Tomorrow is a different day but we have the pace and a good start puts us right back in it.

How many places do we expect from Norris and Sainz to gain? In order to call tomorrow a victory we must have both drivers in front of the Renaults and Racing Points.

We are collecting one point more than RP, several more than Renault and Ferrari are dropping out.

Victory?

Certainly it is an extremely good position so far. Loving this race.

Lando’s pace is roughly one second slower than Perez un the first stint... Hoping that he is just trying to protect his tires and for a one stop

Seems to be the right call. The Renaults were powering through the traffic.

Still very tight and close to call. Again, Strolls misfortune helps to keep Mclaren in the hunt for 3rd. Hopefully Albon will catch Perez and take his spot.

What they have done is given themselves the option of both strategies but I think we will end up staying out.

Peres pace is really good... He is 6-8 tenths faster than Lando on Mediums... The RP is running really well in Bahrain

Totaly agree.

That might not be the case in the next race. It's a Power Circuit like Monza and hopefully we will have the upper hand there to gain a huge load of points.

Currently we are collecting 18 to RPs 15 points. Renault drop back further.

If it remains like this then we should have 4th. We won't catch album or Perez, we have done everything the car is capable of. We just need Albon to take Perez and a Renault to drop further.

Bottas of course might push Renault back.

I dont think we have done everything the car is capable of. Norris said yesterday that he could have taken P5. Everytime we managed to start in front of the RPs or Renaults,we managed to beat them.

As long as they can maintain this pace, 5th and 6th would be great positions in this race... Both drivers running roughly a second faster than the Renault and matching the RP and RBR now
