If I owned a team I wouldn't dare to put two rookies in it
Jaguar put Webber and Pizzonia in. It saved them a lot of money compared to Irvine's salary, and arguably made little difference to Jaguar's on-track performance.

Why Jaguar didn't keep de la Rosa, who knows? But the near-rookie plus rookie lineup really didn't cause any issues.

Hamilton should be back in Abu Dhabi.

He's got to meet the negative test requirements for their quarantine rules. If he doesn't then they won't even let him in the country.

He may not have left the country if we go by his pattern of living at the tracks this year.
Hopefully he is ready to go to send end the season with his team in style.

He is probably in Bahrain still, but the final race is in a different country. Thats what Just a fan was saying. He wont be allowed in to the UAE

I'd imagine they have something very quick on standby in case he is only cleared Thursday or Friday. As there's nothing riding on the race for him he can probably even forego friday practice if necessary.

Does he have to be declared as the driver before Friday? Not sure whether they can just decide to substitute him back in on Saturday morning.

ooh, nice. I'm actually genuinly excited for that, I think the American Motorsport racing 'scene' fits a lot better with Magnussen.

10 days as of monday, the test can be done early morning, if he comes out 'clean' he could be in AbuDhabi for FP2, perhaps FP3.

However, 10 days of quarantine does not equal that the 11th day, you are guaranteed 'corona-free'.
Also, perhaps the biggest question could be: will Hamilton want to go through the hassle, or will he simply 'enjoy' having a 'calm' end to 2020, and give Russell an opportunity, and focus on 2021, including being fit et al.
No matter what he does, the WDC and WCC are decided, nothing changes anything.

Hence i wouldn't be surprised he'd actually decidedly will simply sit it out.
It would be a 'mini vacation' despite actually having had Covid, which is no joke.

Is he not quarantined in his hotel room now? Probably he will not feel fit enough to drive not having had access to a gym?

Not certain about full quarantine rules. I THINK Hamilton has enough money and Mercedes too including resources to actually just decide to quarantine literally IN the gym and put his bed and stuff there, lol.

that said, though i'm sure 10 days of non-normal routine will have a decent impact, i also doubt it would make one 'too handicapped' to race.
However, Hamilton is very concerned with his health (a good thing though) so I doubt he'd risk that health, so again, i am reaaaaaaly doubtfull he'll even concider doing AbuDhabi.

I think at best, he'll be at the pit wall.

Genuinely don’t know! I’m very hazy on the rules for that actually. I was musing really, I suppose.

Surely not? There have been past instances where a driver has even not taken part in qualifying and raced. Look at kobayashi in Japan 09. Didnt fp/qualify. But raced
