Too much front roll stiffness
That would cause an inner wheel to lock. He's constantly locking the outer wheel into T1.
Hmm, you're right. Locking that same wheel on entry to 7, maybe he's just overheating that tire.

Does this confirm that it's all the car and Hamilton isn't as good as people think... Russell is as good as Hamilton... or Bottas v20.8 is no good?!
There is no doubt in my mind that Russell can be as good as Hamilton. But can he be as good as Hamilton for as long as Hamilton has been Hamilton? I think that question a lot of F1 drivers are yet to prove.
The other question is how will he do with real competition in the other car.

Did I hear George is running with DAS and Bottas without? or did I get it the wrong way around?
Russell definitely using DAS not sure about Bottas though you would think both would be running it.

From the on-baords, it looked/sounded like he was learning how to use it more than anything else! He was told to adjust it a few times by bono.

I was making a joke about people jumping the gun after one practice session

Can Russell lean forward on the straights to reduce drag or is that classed as active aero?

Don't know how he can see anything, from the front he looks like Geordi La Forge.

It took quite a while in 2016 for Max to be able to extract 100% from the Red Bull in qualifying trim, if i remember correctly that was the only season Ricciardo outqualified him, from that point on Max just kept growing.
Bottas needs to deliver.

The hype train surrounding George is insane. It's a track, with barely a few corners. Tow will be very important too. He may be the next coming, but even if he is, I am really doubtful this is the track that is really representative. I would think Abu Dhabi would be more interesting to draw some conclusions. We'll see if he gets to drive there or if Lewis will be back.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

I mentioned in another thread that I think I hear Bottas is not using DAS as they want him to prepare for next season when they no longer have it.

On a track as short as this Russel may have a considerable advantage in prep, if this is correct

I'd expect a flood of penalties for blocking.

Didn't Mercedes go out first in Monza this year which prevented chaos? Depends if they have enough in hand to do that this weekend.
