WOW! George Russell!!

I would have been impressed if it was two tenth but to match Bottas!! No doubt he would be challenging Lewis a lot more!

The best part was how GR chipped away at it!
Outqualified by the worst driver on the grid. What is impressive about that?
So if Bottas is that bad, it must put Lewis in the bottom 3 drivers on the grid, and Russell must make up the other driver in the bottom 3. Yeap you got it #-o #-o #-o #-o
It was a dig at him for calling Bottas the worst driver on the grid a while ago which I strongly disagreed with..

So we now have clear evidence of Russell’s raw pace. However does he have the race craft?
He has always been a fantastic qualifier in Williams. Race start is also one of his weaknesses, he is also on the dirty side of the grid so let's see what happens.
Oh I know but with the greatest of respect to Kubica and Latifi they are not any kind of barometer today we actually saw something that kinda confirmed it.

Speaking of Latifi, Aitken closeness should be making Williams ask questions.

In post qualifying interview, Russell sounded very pessimistic for tomorrow, purely due to the discomfort he is feeling inside the car and the race is so long, which could make life difficult to drive with that discomfort. There are obviously question marks on the tyre life and his own lack of experience in F1 in terms of wheel to wheel racing. First part of the job done, done extremely well. Any result within top 5 would still be extremely good result.

Look at this. How much would that be hurting the aero and yet...

Look at the INEOS logo on the halo..u will see how far back the camera is in george's car

And also to be fair they both are on different corners
I suggest you watch the whole footage. You could easily see half Russell’s helmet the full way around.

Russell is 6’1 and squeezed in a car made for somebody who is 5’8. It’s no optical illusion so you do the maths of why his head is so much higher.
Oh yeah i am watching it
Nobody is denying the fact that Russel is 6.1 and squeezed into a a car....and no one is naive in understanding about it
but the camera is indeed behind Russel's car in comparison to Bottas' car
See below, the red on the halo shows how far the camera is in his car

And they surely are not on the same part of the corner, see the red circle

Everyone talking about Russell, but what about Leclerc? He definitely was the real deal today. How on earth did he put that Ferrari on P4 on this track? I was lost for words, sublime performance.

That was a great lap. In recent races, Ferrari have made good progress in qualifying trim. The tyre usage still is a big problem and he might fall back in race, which is sad.

Even if you take the difference into account you would still clearly see Russell’s number where as you can hardly see Bottas’ helmet at all.

He ran less DF compared to Vettel, looks like that worked out. He can cope with that while Vettel couldn't, see his performance in FP2 where he tried that set up.
Besides that he's a great driver, putting his car where it probably shouldn't be that often.

If you are trying to say what I think you are then you are now admitting that you were originally being pedantic. There was and is clearly a massive difference in the helmet locations even taking the slight difference in camera locations into account which was the point being made over Aero interference.

Still you keep on if you so wish but I’ll not be engaging anymore.

What I want to know is why everyone focuses on Bottas as a #2 . . .

. . . when Albon is getting wiped off the face of the earth by Verstappen every weekend.

Put Lewis in the #2 RB and maybe Verstappen is getting his teeth kicked in every weekend.

We simply don’t know because Albon is the worst driver on the grid.

Merc has to be sending a bottle of champagne to RBR thanking them for keeping Albon next year.

This is my original quote, see below
Look at the INEOS logo on the halo..u will see how far back the camera is in george's car

And also to be fair they both are on different corners
Did I anywhere say his helmet position is not optimized?? :?
All I was saying is the difference is exaggerated due to camera angle!
and the different corner, what is meant was different part of the corner(my mistake)
