I just know this is going to come back and bite me on the bum, but here goes.
Stroll is going to be world champion one day. ( I half wish I had not said that)
Maybe. Regardless of what you think of Stroll as a driver. You don't need to be the best driver to win. You just need to be in the best car and have the team behind you. He's already got 1 of 2.
What's to make of it. It's an advertising ploy.raymondu999 wrote: ↑18 Nov 2020, 11:25I’m not entirely sure what to make of that tbh. Merc has provided safety cars since... 97? 98?
Maybe, I don't think it's likely. I try not to waste cycles on trying to figure this stuff out. If it happens it happens. For everyone of the rumours that are true, there are 9 fske.raymondu999 wrote: ↑19 Nov 2020, 07:18Yeah I know. Probably facilitated in part due to Merc's increased shareholding in AM. But does that extend to them shifting their F1 focus to the AM F1 team? There were rumors of a team sellout not so long ago. Perhaps a phased transition of focus before an end-of-2021 sellout?
They get to lead more lapsdiffuser wrote: ↑18 Nov 2020, 13:54What's to make of it. It's an advertising ploy.raymondu999 wrote: ↑18 Nov 2020, 11:25I’m not entirely sure what to make of that tbh. Merc has provided safety cars since... 97? 98?
The Toto Wolff effect.raymondu999 wrote: ↑18 Nov 2020, 11:25I’m not entirely sure what to make of that tbh. Merc has provided safety cars since... 97? 98?
Wtf. He got a lucky pole and that's it. Look at how he fell back in the race. Doubt he will even get a win before he is replaced due to AM and Merc pressure for results.
He has the attitude. He remains unflustered, and what ever you think of him, he was on pole in those conditions and lead comfortably until the messed up tyre change.
