The lap he did was a 1:43 that's midfield race pace with a full tank.

I timed it with a stop watch and it was a 1:42.777

Pace is still upper mid field in a car that weighs nearly 200kg less. Today's cars have too much torque and aero.

Yeah, the final Q3 lap he was 0.367 seconds off Max, he should have split the two mercedes at least

He was closer to max in q2 times because max did his lap long before him and that too on mediums when ALbon did it on softs
