It was written in the stars, or rather the rumourmill, and today, Renault F1 has confirmed that Fernando Alonso will return to the team with which he won his two F1 World Championships with.

good to hear the team brings out an official statement.
however, nothing is certain still though.....
i remember Michael Schumacher's debut as a replacement for the imprisoned Bertrand Gachot, who made up the official line-up of 1991, now 30 years ago.
Some 'elements' might be compared between Gachot and Mazepin.
First of all, Mazepin has already proven to be a violently-tempered person, after punching Ilott in the face twice, even causing injury. He then also delibaretly attempted or actually hit Tsunoda by hitting the position bollard at the 'car podium'. Now, he is in another 'scandal' with this groping case etc. And i wouldn't be surprised if more is to come.
In the case of Gachot, he had a road rage incident with a Taxi driver in London, who he sprayed with CS gas, then tried to hide the evidence, and went 2 months (reduced) to prison for the incident.
The element here being that you could also 'issue' that Gachot's actions werent that 'big of a deal', but where Mazepin untill now still has not been pressed with charges (not expecting that to happen though), it did with Gachot, which had him miss his F1 participation.
There could still unfold a situation where things get 'repeated'. The thing is, if we look at the 'Mazepin camp' history, it's not at all that unimaginable that another issue will appear.
Let's face it, the possibility that 'something' will occur with regards to Mazepin is far more likely than fe Tsunoda, Mick, etc.
That said....Mazepin money will keep them high and dry in F1.

while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"
Just look for the conversation he had with @formularenee. But I’m guessing you don’t find that any bad behaviour or damaging because he didn’t say “send me nudes or else”.
Didnt look it up and as you didnt present any hard facts or evidence, I assume it's more of the same mindless parroting and unfounded accusations.
With Mazepin it’s the accumulation of bad behaviour. It’s not just one thing or one woman he comes forward it’s an ongoing list of behaviour that would get you fired from almost any job.
From what I'm seeing, the video incident with the girl is the only thing being discussed here. At least I didnt notice any outcrys when Haas first announced him, despite his obvious short comings in the past. For all I care they should have banned him in the past for his on-track misbehaviour, as I already stated.
Try it out, punch your coworker at lunch, then kick over another coworkers bike on the way out and run across the office body checking someone in the wall, almost sending them to hospital.
Completely unrelated and irrelevant. I fully agree that any employee needs to comply with whatever rules there are in his/her professional environment or be prepared to face repercussions.
What I dont agree with, is public defamation with no evidence at all and calling for someone to get fired for something the person did in his free time, just because you dont like it.
And I'm sorry for derailing this thread, but
as long as it's within the law, people are allowed to do what ever the heck they want in their free time. And they shouldnt have to deal with online harassment from people like you. I dont think you understand what consequences it can have, publicly calling someone a "sexual preditor".
For some reason this thread has become sillier than the silly season, with various other topics being introduced. Also some extremely bad language has reared its ugly head. So, some posts have been removed and I would ask you to try and calm down. After all, it is the Christmas season and goodwill to all should be shown....
I couldn’t find a more fitting description of Mazepin’s character trades. I’m sorry. Any suggestions what to use from now on?
Just stop posting on the topic.
Haas have made their decision, now they have to live with the consequences.

Stick a fork in this...done. Maz will be a bit faster than Schu ala Mag was a bit faster than Gros. Both will likely be gone in 2 years time with no fanfare. Tsu, Schw, and Illott all faster than these 2 guys. Tsu is young...hope he can mature/survive (not so sure with Hondo leaving). Schw and Illott...not enough cash.
Tsunoda strikes me as the fastest among this group of drivers, but he isn't the most consistent. Schwartzman was my pick this year, but he really killed his chances with 4 bad races at Silverstone, followed by another 4 shockers at Mugello and Sochi.
I'd be surprised if any prove to be World Champions.

...given equal machinery, I would expect Gros, Kvy, and Mag to outscore the lot of them. To not belittle them too much, I would expect all but Schu to outscore Lat.
It's interesting to concider Mick. No, i don't think he's even marginally in his father's league, as Michael really was just absolutely miles above the general drivers in F1.
However, it wasn't just Michael in F1, it was also Ralf. Yes, Ralf surely benefitted from the Michael hype, but still needed to perform in his brother's shadow. Perhaps even harder for him to stay in f1 due to his brother's presence. Michael without any doubt helped Ralf enter F1 easier, but i do believe that Michael's extraordinary talent also made it harder for Ralf. That said, Ralf did stay in F1 for a good amount of time, from 1997 till 2007, achieving 27 podiums and 6 wins.
If we look at for example Sergio Perez, who managed to get 10 podiums and 1 win in 9 years, then obviously Ralf did remarkably better, yet we look at Perez as a great driver.
You could compare Ralf a bit right now to Daniel Ricciardo - in stats, offcourse - where daniel has 4 more podiums and 1 more win.
So, Ralf, despite not being as 'wonderful' as his big brother, still achieved good success in F1.
With that, Mick unlikely is going to be as good as his legendary father, BUT, that doesn't mean he won't fare decent in F1. Even if he's 'only as good' as Ralf, then that's still successfull and means he's got a healthy future in F1 ahead of him, and let's face it, the 'hype' aroud him will make sure that he'll get atleast a good chance and he definately will find it financially worthwile aswell.
I was disappointed with Bruno Senna's f1 career opportunities, but let's face it, he missed out on getting sidelined with the whole BrawnGP saga, and he entered F1 (thanks to his break from competitive motorsport) way too late and as such with no worthwile sponsors, which is why he vanished from F1 swiftly. I don't think he was any bad at all, but it's also clear he wasn't his late uncles physical race craft ressurecction. Mick has Ferrari behind him, and a certain hype, different to that of Bruno, and has the benefit of youth.
However, the example of Bruno Senna also shows that you can still find yourself at the wrong place in the wrong time, and that a name and even enough talent doesn't guarantee you a stay.
Let's be honest, Bruno Senna definately was fast and good enough to stay in F1, he was vastly better than guys like Palmer, Ericsson, Guiterrez, etc. Unfortunately, he didn't have the funds available to him to make things keep going, like the case with for example Kamui Kobayashi, another great driver that F1 should have seen being able to stay.
So it's not unfathomable that Mick could also find himself in a situation like that. I also believe being at Haas alongside Mazepin isn't the best of environments. Yes, Ferrari is investing there, but so is daddy Dmitri. I think SchuMick would have been better off to start at Alfa Romeo, alongside Raikkonen.
Alpha Tauri, Alfa Romeo, Renault (Alpine) alongside a proven, stable, more or less experienced driver would be the best option imho.
Had it not been Mazepin nor his daddy's russian billions over there, but Grosjean or Magnussen still in the other seat, it would have been a decent choice too.
Nevertheless, we will see anyways. Who knows, perhaps Mick will have just as a sensational debut, get a podium in his first race and mazepin can't get past P15,
and Mercedes will make a shock move and steal SchuMick from Ferrari and dump Bottas in favour of lil'Schumi.
2020 has been a completely insane season. We might find 2021 even more crazy and look back at 2020 like a calm uneventful season in the end.

...quite possibly the most intriguing scenario/conspiracy theory I have ever heard on F1Tech. Master class! I offer you a virtual beer. If such comes to fruition, it will make a movie plot of "Gone With the Wind" proportions.
Unfortunately, reality always sets in and Ham/Merc will continue winning both titles...the combo being so dominant several will be won posthumously.

It is quite an advantage if your parents/grandparents own a track when you are growing g up though
They still have to put the work in, but it is far easier if you do not have to travel a hundred miles or book an appointment etc, and the there are the coaches that make such a difference to a young driver.
Not a Gimmee, but quite an advantage if you are prepared to put the work in
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

He might surprise us! Schumacher came into F1 with a bluff and some Mercedes backing, but his junior formulas weren’t as blistering as some might think. At the time Hakkinen was the one to watch, with Schumacher a bit under the radar.

Binotto has already said that Mick first has to mature at Haas for two years, as in the past he often got on steam in a new series in the second half of the second season.
Ferrari are helping Haas to build the 2022 car so that MSC can at least score points for few years before the big seats open up. It seems Carlos will be at Ferrari for four years at least.

How do you reckon?
He has the qualities. And if he is a willing number 2 his seat is safe.. I would say the pattern at Ferrari has been that solid number 2's have safe seats. Can't see why they would keep him short term the quality of driver he is.
