For me it is synonymous with the rebranding to Alpine. I just assumed Infiniti was going along with the Renault name.

The Scuderia have “already passed the FIA frontal crash test and the nose of the car has obtained the homologation of the governing body”, says the report.

The same applies to Renault, who will be rebranded as Alpine next year when Fernando Alonso makes his return to Formula 1.

Although teams cannot yet work on aerodynamics for 2022, they can make progress on the structural parts of the car.

“We’ve been working on it for some time now. Every team was expecting to race these cars in 2021, so I think everyone had got to a pretty advanced stage before the aero development freeze kicked in this year.

“That hasn’t stopped mechanical design or simulation work taking place though. Our gearbox design, for example, is very mature now.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that Alpine and Ferrari have finalised their chassis designs. They can still continue developing the chassis, but they now essentially have a fallback - a safety net - if they run into issues with later iterations of the chassis. And let’s be honest teams knew about this regulations since 2018 and they were well advanced with this stuff at this point since it was going to be introduced in 2021 so it’s not that surprising to see this.

This article says that the all new engine is being brought for 2021.

Well let's hope that's true. Not sure that wil be helpful for our 2021 aspersions, reliability, but will be helpful for 2022.

That artical says "Can use the new PU" not "will use". Atleast in the English translation.

Well let's hope that's true. Not sure that wil be helpful for our 2021 aspersions, reliability, but will be helpful for 2022.

That artical says "Can use the new PU" not "will use". Atleast in the English translation.
Maybe they can use it with the current air intake but the optimum configuration is for the next generation of the cars unless they are spending tokens modifying the intake, completely unsure here.

Apparently they already planned to test parts of the 2021 engine on this years car before COVID so I’m guessing the intake was adapted to accommodate this ect?

For Renault, they say the focus is 2021 and that 2020 will be a ‘learning year’ (again), Taffin saying that they expect to be testing 2021 specific engine components throughout the season.

“During the championship, we plan to test new components.” confirms Taffin,

“It will be necessary to proceed like this, as the best way to implement new solutions quickly is to test them on track.”

As you had already mentioned, they are already making changes to the cooling.

This would have been something they'd already submitted to the FIA.

how long Renault working on 2021 engine? The article says "for years" any idea how long they are concentrating new engine?
