Is it me or the FW looking more "Ferrarish" in style.

Is this type of "closed" geometries on floor legal? Wasn't there change of rules to avoid this or was it pushed to the next year?

Simple answer: no.

A double diffuser connects the underfloor space with the above floor space. That requires a hole and holes are illegal in this situation.

A double diffuser connects the underfloor space with the above floor space. That requires a hole and holes are illegal in this situation.

Wonder what feeds that outlet?
Very groovy shape to the top of the diffuser.
Interesting floor edge treatment.

I'm sure a little of everything.

The transmission issue meant they lost a lot of valuable set-up evaluation time. For example The Merc in the afternoon wasn't much different than the Red Bull in the morning. By the time the afternoon session came around Red Bull had analyzed the data from the morning session and made appropriate changes.

The weather in the afternoon wasn't overly conducive to figuring ont issues either.

It looks to me like a hole, maybe it is fed through the sidepod somewhere, difficult to say from this picture. Ferrari used something similar on SF71H.

I mean, we see what the airboxes are split like, and OMG brake ducts , so aren't we assuming that the inside of the sidepod is the same (post radiator)?

The mysterious blowing
The image of Giorgio Piola is eloquent: by clearing some details, the vent of air emerged that catches the flow from under the bottom and blows it on the central channel of the extractor, taking up the solution of the "double diffuser" that he had introduced years ago Ferrari and that Mercedes was able to develop better than in Maranello.

Erm that diffuser dop has been on cars for years now. Some times teams shroud it sometimes not. Check any photos of the floors removed over the years and you can see how teams sometimes wall it off or just leave it exposed like Merc has here.
