Honda's failures as a team owner is inversely proportional to their success as an engine supplier.

I am sure that 20 engines would not have been too difficult, as I'm pretty sure that there were availabilities of left overs from the last 2 years, as well as the rest of Super Aguri's supply for 2008.

Maybe they wanted to remove themselves from the embarrassment of having their name on another loser, but to be honest, if Honda wanted to avoid embarassment, they would NOT have sold their team to the same people that were there already, and having them pick up a competitors engine, and then go on to score alot of points/win a few races.

That will only have the worlds motorsports headlines talking about how bad Honda really is as a management and engine building body.

Not good press when the car market is getting a bit cut throat.

Brawn GP scoring a whole heap of points and a few wins? Yeah, I can see that happening.

Im pretty sure Honda was the other engine to get special dispensation from the FIA to make upgrades, along with renault.
obviously their withdrawal meant they didnt take up the option, so your 20 left over engines are a handicap before you even start.

...Are the engine guys at Brackley getting paid still or not?

And xpensive, mathmatically, the Brawn cars have the same chance of winning as any other team. And I believe that this exact car was of the earliest, if not THE earliest started 2009 car, so it may be more than baclava for you, my friend.

Interesting statistical conclusion, only it doesn't always work out like that, like Jenson Button scoring one lucky win only over 9 full seasons in Formula one.

The last time we saw such fundamental changes to the shape of the F1 car was in 1998, when Williams was first out testing an interim- as well as their final car.
The reigning WDC team didn't win a single race that season.

I understand the major sponsor will be a complete surprise and the predominant livery will be white & blue with some red on it thats all I hear at this stage and they will have a discounted entry in 2009 then if the team perform its full tote odds with the bucks from 2010 - is it Pepsi - that's the whisper?? or maybe thats the USGPE sponsor..........confused...... dont worry this team/car will perform quite ok this season :)

Blue sponsor, Embratel??? Pepsi could be a good call. But USGPEs main sponsor is rumored to be Heinz foods with another major US based company.

Ive heard that there is to be one major sponsor of BGP with 2-3 other smaller, but equally as big as the major sponsor.

You may be correct ESPI - Ive been hearing from Bahrain for about 8 weeks about the sponsorship - could be a bunch of b/s but I dont know - this person seems to have a tie in with the (old Honda) team from what Ive seen - anyway I cant imagine Brawn doing this for it to fail given his background - and I guess thats the answer.......................

Was about to post that, quick out of the box on a damp track. Bodes well...this is going to be some season!

If Brawn won out of the box I'd be well p155ed if I was working for Honda! LOL
