Perez clearly had more time to set up his car to his liking, so it's not the least bit surprising that his car could be more dialed in. With Bottas out of the picture Rbr need to take advantage of the 2 on 1 they can leverage. With the longer DRS can the Merc keep the Honda behind despite their clipping short coming? The clipping has more how you ecu is programmed for the weekend. Regaring Max being defeated, it's definitely not the first time this year.

Quali with full battery very much yes and maybe honda even holds a slight edge, but in races I believe mercedes still holds advantage. Hamilton was gaining loads on main straight in this first half of imola gp.

edit. case in point just now when Perez wasn't able to go by Vettel for multiple laps, unable to to gain even 0.5s on the main straight. Meanwhile Hamilton overtook mlcaren of Ricciardo from 1s back and just not destroyed Sainz from 0.7s back, ending up well ahead even before braking zone.

Perez had an utterly dreadful race, thank god Verstappen is well, Verstappen. 1 point behind Hamilton, 1 win a piece. On to the next one, fantastic race from Verstappen, he just stamped his authority on the race with a dynamite start and just kept pushing all the way to the checkered flag. This is what it takes to beat Hamilton. Well done Honda and Red Bull, you built a hell of a car, the only one that can compete with Hamilton's Mercedes.

Next race, the slow braking zones are very similar to turn 10 in Bahrain, there's a good mix of high and low speed corners.

Race thread is becoming unbearable again. Apparently Max is lucky to win.

Fantastic start, first SC restart, and mega outlap on cold slicks versus warm inters inlap. Stayed carefull all race. Then the restart, you are at a disadvantage as the rest can slipstream so you have to get all heat into the tires that you can. Still made it.

I can still remember multiple members blaming Max for the outer track bahrein start, where he had imho close to zero chance. Here lewis put the nose into the wall totally unnecessary. Twice. And not a peep. This forum has acedic members. Honousty is far and few.

Luckily Max is always honoust and owns up when he screws up. I’m very impressed with this race under this pressure. Really showed he is up for it. And that will be very needed,that is clear now.
