So by not giving the positions back, Perez is now far enough ahead that his penalty won’t cost him any positions. There’s something very wrong there.
Exactly he would've lost more than 10 seconds stuck behind the two McLarens in these conditions, the penalty clearly doesn't suit the crime.
It’s an absolute disgrace, really. Profited by deliberately ignoring the rules.

Perez can’t change tyres in pits when serving penalty

It’s gonna goat him over 30 seconds

I thought that was the case as well, but then I think he would have 3 laps to serve the penalty. I think it's just a regular 10 seconds penalty now.

It’s not a stop and go, they were saying. It’s a ten second time penalty. He’s 16 seconds ahead of Norris so he will come out 6 seconds still ahead after the stops. If it was a stop and go he’d have had to have served it already.

IMO the only reason Mercedes kept Bottas is they thought he wouldn't hurt their constructors' championship chances. This year with Perez at RBR and RBR being competitive it might shoot them on the foot.
Either that or they just did it for the memes.

So Vettel gets a stop/go for not having wheels on the car at the right time, but Perez only gets a 10 second penalty for overtaking under safety car...

Did they give Vettel his penalty right after he’d just stopped? Even though it was something they’d have known way before he stopped. That’s really shitty.

Rule makers punishing Aston for their outbursts?

Whatever the intent with perez (it was 'marketed' as a stop/go indeed), he served it as a regular time penalty. I suppose if it had to be a stop/go they'd hace waved a flag by now.

Russell has taken out both Mercedes in one go! That’s not going to go down well.
