Just how lucky is hamilton? Gets a new front wing and an extra lap for free. Starts P9 but he'll be somewhere P3-P5 in no time. DRS seems OP on this track this year as cars are running more drag to compensate and extra drs distance to top it off. I don't think anyone stands a chance against him apart from maybe Verstappen if he builds enough distance. Hamilton didn't seem at all slower than Verstappen so far in this race. If anything he's a tenth of two faster.
You reckon? Bottas didn't get anywhere. Is Hamilton really any more capable from P9!? :wtf:
Russel was attempting an overtake on bottas, that's down to DRS. If Russel can do that against mercedes than hamilton can do it against anyone obviously.

HAM is much better in traffic than BOT. Not sure whether a podium is possible but I think a P5 is potentially feasible.

Was Russell's fault that Lewis went off too. He slowed down on the dry line just before Tosa. Lewis had to go on the wet line just before a corner!!!
Ham didn't have to pass there, he has brakes you know ...
Russell slowed a lot and put Lewis in a position that he had to pass or lose a hell of a lot of time.
Welcome to racing ...
Slightly different from being 1s/lap faster upfront in clean air.

I disagree. With the run George had, no way you move on the guy. He pushed Russell out in the wet.

Maybe legal, but it was a dirty move. I’d be pissed if I was Russell.
There was still enough space. Russell managed jet another self wipeout. I am starting to believe he really doesnt want to score for Williams....
Yeah because Valteri went straight where the track goes left.

I’ve been around racing my whole life, and not as just some guy watching on tv. It’s not penalty worthy, but it’s a dirty move.
Yeah, you are right. I rode amateur kart races and i have experienced this quite often as well. Guys literally looking back at me, staring in my eyes seeing me im faster, making a move and simply turning into me.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Yet Bottas showed little improvement in position at all...

Russell attacking a Mercedes, shows the Mercedes to be slow... Unless Hamilton is, bizarrely, dramatically faster than Bottas in traffic!?

Max could still have a dnf, because you know Charles and lando are going to give it everything at the start.

strategies will be interesting now. Only Hamilton and Verstappen have another set of Mediums, all other need to either continue on used ones, take Hards, or go Soft-Soft for the end

Yeah start could still end poorly. For max , the red flag was not the best possible scenario.

Mediums were favoured in long runs anyway. Can’t see the point of being on anything else right now. Lose 27sec with a clean pit stop and hard to overtake. Track position key
