What about Ken Tyrrell? He was running his team (in various guises) from 1968 to 1998.

To be fair, i don't think it's at all honest to portray Frank Williams all the way up to 2020. Ken Tyrrell, Peter Saube, Jean Todt, etc. fully worked in the role they had untill the 'end' you written down. That is NOT at all the case with Frank. He may have been the leader in 'name', but by no means whatsoever in the ways Tyrell fe was untill the end. As of 2012/2013 she was 'deputy' TP,
but even before that she was rather involved. He's probably still longest in charge though, but 2020? no, sorry.

And the great Enzo himself? Ferrari had lots of team principles but the man himself was in charge from 1950 until his death in 1988?

1948 not 1950
F1 started in 1948 and Scuderia Ferrari started competing in F1 in 1948
(though SF entries were paused c. 1964 - their F1 cars being entered by the N.A.R.T.)

Before 1950 it were Grand Prix, not formula 1.
Many team principals were the head of their teams before F1 began or they entered F1, like Alfred Neubauer or Eddie Jordan.

the first Ferrari F1 car was raced in 1948
(though not all GPs were in 1948 to F1 rules)

it was the WDC that started in 1950 - not F1
though the 1952 and 1953 WDCs were held to F2 rules - Ferrari (Ascari) won these

The first race to be held under Formula One regulations was 1946. But I think Formula One as we know it , officially began in 1950. If Formula One themselves say 1950, then thats good enough for me.

'Formula One as we know it' disappeared in 1952 and reappeared in 1954

yes the recently-emerged 'Formula One themselves' have recently got everyone pretending otherwise
at the Ferrari '1000 Anniversary' GP a year ago 'Formula One themselves' count was c.26 different from Ferrari's own

so Enzo's reign as per this thread's terms was 1948-1988 or 1954-1988
unless we believe that 2 WDC seasons with F2 cars not F1 cars were 'Formula One as we know it'

Either way, Enzo wasn't the team principal, so I guess he doesn't make the list. Thats why Horner is on the list and not Dietrich Mateschitz.
