Im trying hard, but I cannot understand why arent all teams using this last test (Im mainly thinking Ferrari here). This is just throwing away valuable testing time, they could test setups for different tracks, or whatnot. I know they arent even close to the testing mileage limit...

And it's worrying for Mac Laren, now every websites report they certainly won't run this afternoon too. My guess is that they have logistical problems, they're probably waiting for some pieces to come from Woking. Maybe the new rear wing / diffusor combo...

I don't see any other explaination, as the track is ideal today, with a very good weather too.

It seems Williams have planned to test up to thursday (included)! One day more than Mc Laren, and two more than Renault and Honda. They're the most daring ones in terms of logistics!
McLaren decided to run Mon-Thurs instead of Sun-Wed

Because they already used all their testing days. They were 2 weeks in Bahrain.
Easy on the Appletini!

Even with the sandstorms? IS there a hard count on that somewhere? I thought they got 15k Km and a certain number of tires, not a set number of days.

Are there a couple of chickens or ducks running in front of that grey car at 1:10?

hello everyone. I've been reading this forum for couple of months and I have to say this is probably the best F1 forum on the net. No insults and great technical insight from people very close to F1 paddock! :)

Today I decided to register and make my first comment, so here I am. I'm not an engineer so my comments can't be so sophisticated as yours :)

have a look at picture n. 4 and 5. birdcage being used measuring the flow from diffuser apparently. and am I the only one who sees that the floor is again uncut (n. 4)??

EDIT: less cut

Nice find!
I think the floor is cut but in a different place - slightly closer to front.

I'd say that was definitly the case... It looks like that's the major concept that didn't work as expected. It fits also with the flo-vis work, and the flow measuring device. That bird cage thing looks mad as cheese.

McLaren seem to have a very busy middle segment of the space between the rear wing and diffuser now. They have the two supports (which they've had for a while now) and also a Brawn GP style hybrid shark fin extension through the middle.

Is it me, or do the exhaust ports now seem to point either side of the central support structure rather than up and over the rear wing?

Also am I hallucinating - or is that a central mirror in picture 3?! Also, they seem to going in the same direction as brawn with the front wing end plates....

Sorry - answering my own question - I am hallucinating. Just a trick of the perspective.

Hehe, I see what you mean. I think its just the angle of the picture.

It seems these pictures further confirm Macca are having problems with the rear aero of their car. It'll be interesting to see what parts they test this weeks and how their times compare. Meanwhile Brawn are lightning.

Less than 2 weeks now :)
