Kind of sounds like you don't really understand what people mean when they say tire whisperer.
does it matter? i perfectly understand the level of expertise people have.
But you show you haven't a clue when judging drivers ability #-o
But do you? Your like the ambassador of UK drivers, they can't nothing wrong in your opinion and if they do it's always someone else his fault.

Title of Leclerc's biography : "I did it on purpose."
Leclerc says the opposite. :)

Charles Leclerc:
So, no, it was definitely not on purpose.

What would be against introducing a rule to give 5/6 minutes extra and a new set of reds if the session is redflagged. In the second Q3 run?

It would prevent any chance of anyone benefitting from an issue. However unfortunate to have it. It would perhaps even prevent them having an issue.
Accidents happen. I don’t think it would be very fair, though I still have a few doubts if this was 100% accidental.
Look, that is why it is a good thing. It will likely not be needed much at all as it removes any potential benefit. As the others will simply have another go while you are out. So it will not be worth it to say, ok, I have pole so I do my next lap on 105%. Especially on these high risk tracks it would Really chance the risk/reward calculation and certainly, if people are left not 100% sure it was an accident, now they always can be.
One thing would be that they'd have to ship around even more unused tyres, at least 80, for the very low chance of a red flag towards the end of quali - remember that the session usually gets green flagged again if there's still time for more runs, they just do not restart it when there's a few seconds left.

Earlier this week I somehow had the feeling Max and Lewis would collide at the start. Seems highly unlikely now...

don't worry guys. They Lecrec and Max will crash each other in first lap! It will happen in first lap or in tunnel. wait and watch then enjoy!!!!
I don't think so but it could get interesting. I guess Charles will try to back Max into Bottas. If that is the case Max will have to come up with some move. That is were it may get exciting.

Flying under the radar after the abrupt end to qualifying... But, how close was Mclaren to pole and P2 today! Unexpected, but showing how fast Lando actually is.

Once the bendy wing saga is out, Mclaren should be competitive in race pace as well. Baku could be pole for Norris.
Poles might be a bit too far for the team I’m afraid... The pace difference at Spain was pretty telling... But, they are setting themselves up to be able to take advantage of opportunities arise, that’s for sure!

On an ideal lap he'd still be a good chunk behind LEC/SAI/BOT/VER. All in all, still a great performance though.
Good point... But, for a Mclaren that is known to not be that great in tracks that favor slow corner performance, it is a great result... It’s also quiet the improvement (a bit more than 7 tenths) vs their qualifying time in 2019.

This is a dumb rule, or lack thereof. Regardless of whether it was an intentional crash, which I don't think it was. It still affects their risk vs reward which is what any smart driver considers when at the limit. The current rules incentivize the Q3 leader to take more risks. If they crash, most likely they'll have pole as most qualy crashes are too minor to cause gearbox damage. If they don't crash, that extra few kph could be the difference between improving your time enough to keep pole or not.

No one can prove intent. Unless it is very blatant. And then still. How can you read anyone’s mind?
Can't read someone's mind so you can't prove intent ever! The entire basis for centuries of law handwaved away by one brilliant insight.

Centuries of law, in which judgement is made by either a jury of peers or a judge. Depending on system. If there is no prove (like a recorded call, a note, a mail) etc. Or circumstantial evidence, then it just comes down to what judge or jury think. Guilty people have escaped punishment and innocent people have been punished.

Not at all, I can see Lewis did a bad job today. Lando and George both did decent jobs. So please don't make up little stories.

I'm just commenting in reply to a guy/girl who will say Lewis is overrated and only average. I would say Lewis is one of the very best of all time along with Max and Charles. So where would you place Lewis? Along with me as one of the greats or along with Klaus as an average driver?
