Is anyone watching F2?

I worry about tomorrow at this rate. So many crashes today and then loads more here.
Two SCs and one VSC in just 8 laps

24h Nürburgring is also on right now

Amazing...
People still think that CL did singe nagic trick (he just got a nice tow), LH did a fantastic thing (he just got a tow), that MV could not take the pole (he had 2 purples before the red flag) etc etc etc.

The race will be VERY long with a lot of SC and VSCs

I really thought McLaren was going to have a massive advantage on Ferrari down the front straight.

Impressive recovery in all areas by the Ferrari team especially on the PU side.

Because of eyes. I have eyes

He sure helped himself into P10
That’s your opinion, but I think you’re wrong.
You just believe that Lewis is 1.2s quicker than Valtteri, on a street circuit, after what's happened last race?
It’s clear Hamilton has been faster all weekend, with identical and different setups. Not 1.2 seconds but the tow is only worth half of that at best. Bottas didn’t do a good lap in Q3 regardless of anything else and was denied his second go by the accident. He was just unlucky. Nothing to see here as far as I’m concerned. Why not make the same fuss about Perez and Verstappen who did the same thing on their first runs?

Yep Checo, Tsunoda, and Alonso get a free spot, and Norris starts just ahead of Bottas.

Shout out to our "Bottas is not a wingman" - crew. =D>

Exciting grid for tomorrow! It will be heated at the front. But Mercedes not only sacrificed Bottas' qualy but also limited their strategic options for the race with Bottas starting in P10 now.

Good move for keeping Hamilton in the championship. And Bottas is used to it anyways.
Mercedes alternate their drivers going first on track. Next race, Hamilton will be ahead and give Bottas the tow opportunity on the straights of Paul Ricard.

Strange you're not moaning about Perez being used to give Max a tow too...
Yeah sure, man. And conveniently it was Hamilton who got the benefit first and the water boy delivering the water first.

I'm not moaning either. I admire teams doing these kinds of litte tricks to get the last drop of performance out. This is what F1 should be all about. Ferrari used to do it in the past and I think Red Bull were trying it a few times also.

The other teams were not brave enough. Mercedes ahead with their game again. Leclerc... Maybe a great strategy by the team to get him capitalize on the Mercs slip stream. But knowing Ferrari it could have also been blind luck. Anyways, great lap from Leclerc. Hope he can spice things up at the front tomorrow.

Leclerc, Hamilton, Verstappen. It's time!

Ferrari and VET led championships later in the season and by greater margins than what RBR has right now in both 2017 and 2018.

The question of which car would perform better circuit-by-circuit was a weekly occurrence, just like it is now.

Even in the middle of 2019, Ferrari was out-qualifying the W10 at every power circuit, and then the Mercs had to battle to the front during the race.

So, for Merc fans in the hybrid era, this is nothing new. Were you following F1 those seasons (asking genuinely, not sarcastically)?
I think many people white wash 2014-2020 as complete Mercedes dominance and forget what actually happened in 2017,2018 and 2019
I do not think people have forgotten. We remember that in 2019 Mercedes won 71% of the races.
Their worst performance in the hybrid era is 52% of the races in a season. These are not competitive season.

They asked for competition now they have it, so they must compete.
The point is, they were competitive seasons, statistics without any form of context are useless.

When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.

Likewise, if you are accustomed to domination, then equal cars that eb and flow depending on the circuit feels like an unfair disadvantage.

Yeah, I was following those seasons very closely, and I remember a lot of moaning even back then every time Ferrari looked marginally quicker. It was boring then and it’s boring now.

There are some fans who just don’t know how to handle not winning every race. I do not consider them to be fans of the sport, they are just fans of one specific driver. Hopefully, when their favourite driver retires, they leave with him.

The first few laps were race>SC>race>SC>race>(V)SC lol.

The F1 drivers tend to be a bit smarter however.

The crash hurt redbull chances of locking out the front row. Perez was definitely running better than his 7th place would suggest.
Anyhow this will spice up the race. Redbull are out of position as well as Bottas.
Sainz is also in a very good position to get on the podium.
I predict that Hamilton will struggle in the first 3 laps, possibly losing places.
Max may let his emotions get the better of him. I think he is still annoyed with Charles taking pole on monaco because of a crash and npw the same thing has happened here.
For Sure!!

And because Leclerc and Hamilton got better positions than their real pace due to the tow, which wasn´t Max case.

Wow 3 places grid drop for lando. Stewards are having a laugh aren’t they. They are consistently inconsistent. I’m impressed
