I'm not moaning either. I admire teams doing these kinds of litte tricks to get the last drop of performance out. This is what F1 should be all about. Ferrari used to do it in the past and I think Red Bull were trying it a few times also.

The other teams were not brave enough. Mercedes ahead with their game again. Leclerc... Maybe a great strategy by the team to get him capitalize on the Mercs slip stream. But knowing Ferrari it could have also been blind luck. Anyways, great lap from Leclerc. Hope he can spice things up at the front tomorrow.

It’s true. Merc alternate who gets the tow. It’s been known for a few years now. And it was confirmed by the team today.

Easy way to verify is to see who goes out first in Q3 at Ricard.

It's not that they alternate who goes out first, but they alternate "who gets the choice to". Come France bottas can decide if he wants to go first or second. It's been the same since 2012, 2013.

At Monaco bottas decided to go first, as its not good to be the last person their due to yellow and red flags.

it's actually only another warm-up lap in Hamilton's case, only Verstappen did two hot laps

Best quali we could have hoped for. Leclerc slower than both Hamilton and Verstappen on race pace, Hamilton and Max almost even, slightly in Max's favour. Should be a good race if we don't just end up with 5 safety cars.

Was the tow Leclerc got really that powerful? His top speed is only 6th fastest overall and 3 km/h lower than Hamilton's top speed of the session. His S3 time was 1.5 tenths slower than Hamilton's.

Hamilton’s untowed S3 in Q2 was quicker than his towed S3 in Q3 interestingly enough.

People need to stop whining about the tow Bottas gave to Hamilton. Hamilton was 4 seconds behind Valtteri which means he didn't benefit more that 1-2 tenths in s3. Bottas was slower in first two sectors by a whooping 7-8 tenths (even though he drove in clean air). Also, Verstappen was not setting two purple sectors (as some have suggested) before the red flag. He was in the middle of the first secotr. Some people here need to stop making up "facts" with the sole purpose of glorifying Max.

no, but as I posted above, Mercedes. AT, AR and Williams have 2 sets of Hard, everyone else 1.

Additionally, all teams but Haas have one set of Mediums. No new Softs left for anyone who made it into Q3

if i were bottas , will shame toto in public. mercedes has made a joke of him.without his tow lewis will be where bottas is. i hope ves will overtake him . i will not mind if they both crash as long as they both retire from race.

i hope bottas comes out and calls his bluff. in monaco he blamed bottas for wheel gun failure. he was off by 2-3 cm only. amazing man he is
