Still not sure if the Honda cars were with a new PU on track. But if that were the case I think the AT cars were on track with a higher engine mode to see if the new engine holds. So then we can't read much into it.Bill wrote: ↑05 Jun 2021, 12:28i said a the beginning of the season to wait before making any conclusions about pu performance .it becoming clear that Honda holds pu supremacy over competitors the notion that they can deploy their energy over longer time holds true .if
Gasly can qualify for top 2 rows they wont be any excuse for Marko like his battery nonsense after being beaten in portimao
No official FIA document about new Honda PU. So they are using the old ones. And keeping a good amount of power, performance and reliability at the moment. Good sign, but still too early. They need to finish the race before talkingTNTHead wrote: ↑05 Jun 2021, 12:34Still not sure if the Honda cars were with a new PU on track. That's the bulletproof reliability Hondas are known for! Even the road engines are finely crafted lumps, the K-series is loved by all. Honda's K20c1 crate engine is a game changer for sure.hasika wrote: ↑05 Jun 2021, 13:19Tanabe san said they wont change PU this race after yesterday’s session.

──The FIA has announced a list of power unit usage for each team, probably because it is a power circuit, many teams have introduced new power units.,Honda didnt change PU, was there any intention? Or will it be replaced after Saturday?
Tanabe TD: There are no plans to replace it on Saturday. Are other teams saying that they will replace the power unit because it is a power circuit?
──No, they didn't specified the reason, but its interesting that Honda and Renault did not replace the power unit despite the power circuit.
Tanabe TD: We are planning to survive all 23 races with 3 power units a year, so we have no plans to replace them at this Round 6 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. That's all.
Easy win for him unless there is a botched Pitstop. Perez failed again despite all the big talk and early promise. Gasly almost pipped Max, he would not have matched his time if he was in the second redbull. Something is up with the second car.
It's exactly the same as the first car.
Wrong information by his race engineer. Gasly took purple S1. His last run was ok but he had no purple mini sector in S1 before the flag came.
