Isn't it just standard wheel covers and blankets?

edit: .. ok nah it's apparently also standard rims and even more parts in the wheel hub assembly.

Given how Hamilton has come out and defended Pirelli, saying the failures are due to what certain teams were doing with the tyres, it will be interesting to see how the new tyre testing changes things.

It looks like Redbull are going to lose the flex wing and possibly a tyre trick this weekend.

I think Lewis is just stirring the pot, and then the media can spend the rest of the weekend distracting RB/Max because they love to eat that stuff up.

They all like to take digs at each other, when given the chance.

The worst part will be listening to Crofty blabber about tire pressures as if he knows what he is talking about.

Did anyone spot any track related differences? They supposedly reprofiled many of the corners.

Oh Jesus, I can only hope the pit lane channel on F1TV is working better this weekend so I can avoid David Crofticle.

More seriously, I think teams will fight standardized wheels to the death. Its a big performance differentiator I believe.
I hope not. Standard wheels come in next year as far as I know.
I thought so to, along with the wheel covers and brake system.

Wow, Hamilton has become quite the little tattletale as of late, huh? It seems the competition isn't as welcomed as he says it is.

It’s called stirring the pot. You drop a one liner and the media explodes, and then pesters Max and Horner all weekend about it.

He’s probably having a laugh about it behind closed doors.

Possibly, yeah.

He was right about the wing though so maybe it’s something else he has been told to raise by the team. It creates more attention and more chance of action when coming from him.

Just a guess: Pirelli based their calculations on dry compressed air, while some teams found out they were better off removing the water separator from their compressors?

Still they raised the pressures by 2 psi this weekend. So a little bit of the teams going to the limit, and a bigger(?) bit of them getting their prescribed pressures wrong.

It's actually against the technical regs to try and remove moisture.

https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files ... -03-05.pdf
12.7.2 Any process the intent of which is to reduce the amount of moisture in the tyre and/or in its
inflation gas is forbidden.
