The new profile in corner 5 is absolutely terrible, it's like there's a massive hole in the track ...

They’re still using the normal line. I saw one of the Mercs go through there and it looked OK as they kept offline, they might have to do a Monaco and swing by the bump. If they can tolerate the discomfort it still appears to be the ideal line, so we’ll see I guess.
Team ANTI-HYPE. Prove it, then I’ll anoint you.

Mercedes absolutely dominant again. Now that the street circuits are out of the way we will see normal service resumed (W12 clearly being better than RB16B overall).
True GOATs don’t need the help of superior material to win.

Tom Brady, Usain Bolt are true GOATs.

5 or 6?

Looks like Mercedes is ahead by around .2 or .3 seconds so far.

Corner 5, the tight right hander, they changed it for "drainage reasons" and created this massive channel/crest.

That's a definite indication, that the teams where heat soaking the tires. For those that don't see it, the unlimited storage time at temperatures up to 60°C (for slicks) is no longer allowed.

RB looked to be the best car on hards, and Merc had a slight edge on the softs. Merc seemed get better as track temperatures increased. Lucky for RB, Sunday will be the coolest day of the weekend, with potential for thunderstorms.

I'm glad that it's just going to be a tight tight race, the weather, the driver's mind state, the team, the strategy, the tires, all of these things can decide the race as much as the car itself. All of those things can go wrong one way or the other, that makes it exciting.

Good! It's a little concerning as to how competitive Mercedes seem to be. :|

Did Bottas and Hamilton swap chassis for some reason? Weird.
