The RB is crushing Merc at a former Merc stronghold.
But only in qualifying on tires that won't see a single lap during the race.
True. But Merc are in trouble going forward at other circuits.

Weather going to be a wild card tomorrow.

Good try Mercedes. Damage limitation again. RedBull sort of dominating but for small misshaps.

Intriguing to see if Merc have a chance in race pace.

Nice end to the session. Excellent lap by Max. Interesting that Hamilton doesn't seem very annoyed about being 2nd. Must expect to have a good chance tomorrow.

A lot of the tracks going forward though you can pass at. Hungry would be the track that I would consider a problem.

Wow, great laps by Max, and it was needed as he is 1 and checo 4. I already expected Merc to be 2 of the 3 first cars here but not without having pole. Great, tomorrow the race is on.

I missed quali, sounds like it was a goodun.

At least the dumb Merc chassis talk we’ve been subjected to can thankfully die, lol

Well well well Lewis P2 and Bottas P3, Max in big trouble tomorrow with two cars who are faster on the mediums behind him and given that Red Bull cant cheat with their tyre pressure tactics I expect Mercedes to have the superior race pace.
Ahh, Matt b, the man who called it halfway passed FP1. Mercedes would crush redbull as it should be.

I'm not really sure but spanish scenario doesn't seem completely out of the question based on medium tyre pace from mercedes. I hope im wrong :D

Anyway, today new engine and baku rear wing really payed off. In quali red bull was clearly fastest car on the straights, faster than mclaren even who usually dominate those stretches, but not so today.
Look at all those purple minis:

I want to see what Lewis and bottas can do tomorrow, as they had better pace than Max on the mediums today.

If Merc can somehow manage a one two that would be huge for both championships.

Could anyone with access to that data please check whether Checo actually aborted his second run in Q2?
A live commentary i read claimed he did that run on softs and i don't recall him being that close to the front after their first run.

Good chance we’ll have a similar race as the first few. Verstappen pulling away in the first few laps and then Hamilton wheeling him in. Good for the show, bad for the nerves 😂

That's a fake honestly, track was improving every minute today, Red Bull did their laps in the first moments of Q2, Mercedes did multiple attempts, even using a second set.
