Interesting that the undercut was so powerful for Max but not for Bottas. Bottas was pulling purple sectors too. All very strange.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Just how much faster is mercedes on the hard right now?
Race sim was 0.1 from memory. Seems about that right now.

Got to break through the dirty air though.
They're much faster than 1 tenth. Hamilton is always within 0.5s-1s to verstappen and bottas is able to easily stay in hamilton's drs, this means they're probably at least 0.3s faster, but more likely 0.5s.
But that's not enough to allow an overtake. So long as Max keeps it all clean, Lewis won't be able to overtake.

Snatching defeat from the jawsbof victory... Sigh. How could you not pit Hamilton first?!!

They gave it away to Max with having a strong oace advantage. Ridiculous!
Max gave it away in the first place.. Anyways I doubt Max can keep this up. Mercedes race pace seems great. RB is faster in qualifying but for sure slower in race pace guess because the Mercedes engine is more efficient so less fuel?

Mercedes simulations seem to think the undercut works around Monaco and Baku so no surprise they didn't expect the uncut around here. Their only hope now is that they have better tyre wear. near the end of the race.

Don't think they have enough top speed. DRS is only giving them 4 tenths. Needs to be much more than that considering the corners that occur before each DRS zone.

Mercedes strategy wasn't so bad! The were 3 seconds ahead. Pitting the lap after is nearly always fine.

But why risk it? It's not evening being about keeping things conservative. It was an unnecessary risk to give Hamilton a one lap tyre life advantage when he had a faster car anyways

Its not the first time though. We have had numerous times where they have brought in the lead car 2nd and the lead has vanished.

Looking like a 2-stop.

Merc can undercut this time.
