Is it Otto Stuppacher? If so, he holds the record for the largest gap between the pole and the slowest person in qualifying. He was the slowest person and a full 27 seconds behind James Hunt on pole at Watkins Glen in 1976.

Just realised a question I asked months ago about lack of 1-2 finsihes and noticed today Mclaren have just secured the first 1-2 of the year.
