P7 George!!! I wonder if the 2nd run on these used tires will change anything - I expect not?

No, though it might mean he didn't get the benefit of a tow himself at that point, so him having to go first (HAM again having choice of order of going out I think this weekend?) isn't ideal, unless they manage to time it well for him too.
BOT was behind a Ferrari no?

It was a tow train quite frankly.
Ah, good to know didn't quite know.

With Sainz at the front then, to explain why he was half a second slower than Leclerc?

Who would have thought that the in season tyre change will bring back mercedes into the game. Totally unexpected.

Mercedes clearly fastest. All this talk of a dominant RBR was nothing but a race track that suit them.

Hamilton what a lap! Well done Leclerc and Russell, Russell is really outperforming that car.

Wow, Lewis made a mistake and just had enough. Probably 3 tenths clear if they all nailed their runs.

I did see some predict that, but it might also be that falling temp due to getting later sun coming down helped them too, which explains how they seemed to be looking better as the session continued (yes final result is close, but w/o that slide HAM'd have been a lot faster I think).

Well, so much for the "Red Bull has a dominant car" ramblings :D

HAM cracked on his final Q3 run and still Max couldnt beat the Merc today. Perrez only 5th.

Russell... He's the real deal. If Mercedes bring him in I imagine it'll play out like Leclerc vs Vettel at Ferrari.

That was some of the worst commentary I've ever heard in this series. I should've broken my "English broadcast only" rule just this once.

Merc being able to not run boat anchor rear wings anymore on circuits like this is pivotal.

Pretty impressive comeback considering they didn’t have much of a chance to dial in the upgrades,

So updates + track characteristics worth 5 tenths a lap or just Merc went more for qualy setup and RB for the opposite one?
It`s worth mentioning that Merc was 2km/h faster on the top speed traps hence they went for a low DF setup after all?

Then VER is moaning about understeer but is that genuine or just engineered in order to protect the rear tyres in the race?

Did Bottas really just say he intentionally gave Hamilton a tow?. Can anyone who watched the onboards confirm this?

Well luckily his clean run was better than Max's clean run. Max cracked on his first run in the same part of the lap.
Taking pole for Lewis means he didn't crack really.
