Did Bottas really just say he intentionally gave Hamilton a tow?. Can anyone who watched the onboards confirm this?
not a surprise. it was a hamiltons choice of order this weekend.

Big question now is, will the Mercedes still appear stronger on a sunday ? If so, this is looking like a real chance of a come back!

Its just a tow by going out first. Some people seem to think Bottas slowed down to give Lewis a better tow ? come on people, that never happened.

HAMs car control’s always on point. Even when he cocks it up there’s something graceful about it

Amazing scenes at Silverstone what a performance from Lewis would never have thought this was possible before the weekend started but those upgrades were just what they needed.

Mercedes is beter in corner entry at 250-300kph. Redbull has more rear traction in slow corner exits. So it is obvious the Merc has a real chance on Silverstone.

That had to be an engine mode/fuel situation for Merc. No other explanation. Still may not be enough, but the gaps can’t be that massive.
Hate to be so pessimistic so early but I think the gap is genuine, Lewis will be lucky to qualify P4 imo.

Hope I'm wrong!
The last time Mercedes took a pole position was in Spain, the 4th race, we are now at race 10. And on a 64 second lap in Austria they were 2 tenths behind Verstappen, that's nearly 0.3% which is quite a sizeable gap. Perhaps P4 is pessimistic rather, they will be fighting with Norris and Perez again for the 2nd fastest qualifier. P1 in has almost become a formality for Verstappen bar a red flag or something along those lines.

I was wrong! Lewis is amazing!

Stunning lap by Lewis. That was fun to watch.

He might just be wrong about that sprint race tomorrow. Everyone's racer instincts might kick in. Max is never going to go anything less than 100% especially if he's going head to head with Lewis.

Upgrades worked and brought them back into the fight.

Now Hamilton's car in particular from highly unscientifical eye calculation seems to be very low downforce, would this hurt their ability to keep the tires in their window?

I think not, it would be a weird gamble to bet everything on qualifying speed on a weekend we don't even have real qualifying.

I think Max showed especially this season that he can race very calculated. No reason to give 100% tomorrow with the risk of throwing away the race on Sunday if he can only win 3 points (or 1 if he comes in first to Lewis second)

Key word: might. You never know and that's what F1 management is betting on.If Max is bearing down on Lewis into Stowe or Vale on the last lap, does he risk the pass or just settle for 2nd? We'll see.

Well, so much for the "Red Bull has a dominant car" ramblings :D

HAM cracked on his final Q3 run and still Max couldnt beat the Merc today. Perrez only 5th.
Well luckily his clean run was better than Max's clean run. Max cracked on his first run in the same part of the lap.
Taking pole for Lewis means he didn't crack really.
You're in alternate reality mate. Hamilton blew half a second in final corner, Verstappen did like 0.1s. It can't possibly be compared. Hamilton should be on pole by 4 tenths minimum but his car carried him to pole this time. Mistake on second lap cant be just brushed aside.

Tell that to the worshiping British commentary team, Lewis walked on water for them today. #-o

My feeling is also that RBR is gonna have a hard time from now on. Remember Mercedes only had 1 FP to workout the setup with these new parts. Alone the optimising of the setup will bring them some time
