Lewis was alongside on the strait, that means Max has to leave room he can't just turn in on someone.
I thought so too at first, but going by that logic, it would mean Bottas stops 3 times at least (as he had 2 new sets of mediums). So that can't really be the reasonJust_a_fan wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:03It says Hamilton's doing a two stopper. If he was doing a one stopper he'd be on his new set of mediums.
He can’t see HAM when side by side like that. So has to trust the guy on the inside to leave room.hudnut wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:15Looked ok to me. Racing incident. I think Max probably could have not turned in as quick, but that would have only delayed the inevitable as Hamilton would have drifted out to the edge of the track on exit.
Shame, as they both left each other heaps of room through a lot of corners prior to that. They were both trying to play hard but fair I think. Dunno if MAx thought he already had HAM covered.
Looking at the overhead, I don't think HAM was going to hit the apex and was wider than he needed to be. Don't think it was to crowd MAX out though, just missing the apex.hudnut wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:15Looked ok to me. Racing incident. What race are you watching?! Yielding when side by side. It’s racing!
