10k meaning 10 kilometres or 10,000 metres. I think that's what he means when he says 10k (metres) to the pub.

That's not what he said tho, 10k meters is still 10 kilometres. He said 10 meters to the pub = 10k - that's not even valid if you are thinking in centimetres.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑19 Jul 2021, 00:5410k meaning 10 kilometres or 10,000 metres. “K” is slang for “a thousand/kilo”. it’s a 150k (euro) sports car”. Or, 10k (meters) to the pub, 20k (bit/s) modem. Not an official name.
Oh I agree, I thought that is what he was saying
That's not how I'm reading it. "10k (meters) to the pub" seems to be saying 10k = 10 meters, otherwise he'd have said "10k (kilometres) to the pub".Just_a_fan wrote: ↑19 Jul 2021, 01:01Er, he did.djos wrote: ↑19 Jul 2021, 00:58That's not what he said tho, 10k meters is still 10 kilometres. 10k (k=kilo/a thousand) meters from the pub.djos wrote: ↑19 Jul 2021, 02:02That's not how I'm reading it. Maybe Im just dense?
Oh no it's all gone to pieces now. 10 metres measured to 3 decimal places!
I think that but never bother these days. Too difficult explaining that a metre is a measurement and a meter is something that measures.
