The Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps has been delayed indefinitely as rain has prevented it to get started at the scheduled time. Two hours after the normal starting moment, no racing has happened yet.
It’s horrible. Look on Youtube for trackside video. Most are shot on an iPhone, which is the equivalent of about 26mm focal length on a 35mm digital / film body. Same difference. It’s a focal length thing. You notice this when cars are following. The gap looks much smaller onboard than it would be outside that or to the naked eye. Imo, I think that’s partly why they do it.. it makes it look closer than it is.RZS10 wrote: ↑27 Aug 2021, 17:49you mean FOV?
the indy cam is top of the helmet right? the one inside helmet behind the visor should in theory give a much better experience and it kinda does show more of an actual driver's view but it's not using an almost fish eye lens like the top of the helmet cam in the other video

Shoulder cams from past F1 gave huge speed sensation, though.
