Different down-force levels it seems. Check the top speeds at Kemmel straight.
Hamilton 310, George 302 kph and quite early too.

Hamilton's crazy wide line at la source is interesting. It seems If he had went for the Apex he would have had the pole..
Not sure why he didn't go for the Apex.

Russel is some kms/h slower on the straights but also some kms/h faster on Raidilion and Pouhon. Interesting comparison and nice to have another source of those videos rather than just our beloved Juzh :D

One of those days you feel that no end of money and politics can prevent talent. I feel like picking out posts from two years with me going on and on about George being in the Mercedes, heck, even Ocon or Wehrlein. Bottas is there for reasons that people who have watched this sport for decades know all too well.

I am wise enough to know what will happen between George and Lewis tomorrow and that Max will again be racing against two cars while Lewis will really only be threatened by one and since he's in front there is little to lose. For this to happen on Valtteri's birthday!! Life can be brutal!

I disagree with Sebastian. In the wet why are we holding the drivers to low standards?! Ayrton Senna and Michael would be disappointed.
What is the point running qualies when Russell was aquaplaning in the middle of kemmel straight?? That is stupid. Also he was the one who had most downforce.

Tyres are crap. As long as they suck in wet they should not run them in these conditions.

Once the plank is floating on the standing water the tyres don’t help much.

If it's wet and stays wet then Russell has a chance of not only a podium but also the win. If it starts to dry even a little bit, he'll get eaten alive. His best hope is for the race to be wet enough that a dry line never forms and the teams have to run wets and then inters. He could very easily get an undercut if he's in touch at the pitstops.

Max is … ahead of Russell in a Williams.
Correct, Max is ahead of everybody. =D>

The true story is Hamilton behind a Williams.
Imagine driving the fastest car and obky being 3/10ths ahead of a williams, toss driver clearly..
Well, as long as ‘you’re’ ahead, you’re ahead- instead of behind.. 8)

.. and F1 being a sport about being ahead, I couldn’t have wished for more.

George deserved pole.

The start could be interesting if it's wet. Pole is on the right which is the side everyone drives over during qualifying. P2 might be a better spot if there's less rubber down on that side. Further back on the grid, the even number slots will be clean tarmac with no rubber making it slippery. Could be some interesting starts from the mid field and further back.

If it's wet, La Source is going to be strewn with bodywork on lap 1.

I hope tomorrow will be rain but not so heavy, I don't want to see drivers in the boxes 8)

Sorry voor Norris -as a long time McLaren fan-I saw hope for pole , what a driver. Also a big cheer for Riciardo. But what a thrilling quali, the laps were epic and despite watching for more them 30 years -i was enchanted by the drivers giving it there best. The helmet cam from Alfonso through Eau Rouge …I am looking forward to tommorrow’s race

Congrats to Max. Well done sir.
Russell was epic. Put that boy in the factory Merc next year and finally Hammy would have a legit team mate and would get his arse handed to him. Great job Russell. Wow. So impressed. =D> =D> =D> =D>
Surely Alonso, Button and Rosberg are legit ? Or you saying they all suck ?
Bad memory? Button won on points compared to Hamilton at their stint together.
Hamilton is a very good driver, but all his wdc are against weaker drivers in clearly best car on the grid. That is how i will remember him.
