A nice haul of points, 9 pts and 1 pt = 10 pts which is huge at the back of the field.
A haul yes but ‘nice’?
I’d be pretty furious if I was Alfa or Haas.
It’s never a given that you’ll get a full race distance on Sunday. Williams earned the points on Saturday.

Nice work Lewis. Great comment on behalf of the fans getting their money back. Kudos.
PR stunt.

Why should they get a refund for the weather. It's not the fault of the track, FIA or F1.
I bet by contract, by completing the race under safety car, fans are not obligated to a refund.

Basically it’s a contractual out for Liberty / FIA.

This is an awful start of the 2nd half of the season. Terrible the way this was ran. Suzuka 2014 was just as rainy.

Lewis with the “I hope fans get their money back”. I agree, but it should come from Liberty’s coffers, not the track.
100%

However I think Liberty/FOM did this farce precisely to prevent having to refund fans or pay any compensation to the circuit owners.

It's not just the fans, it is a whole bunch of people from sponsors, TV even bookies.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

The weather is hardly the issue, the result was completely contrived.

If there was never an intention to actually run the race then absolutely some blame lies with FIA/Masi/Stewards. We can argue what that redress could be, including 0.0 dollars, but it's worth thinking about which parties acted honestly here.

I agree.

But even without the two laps there should be no refund for the weather.

Notice what he said prior. That they did 2 laps to basically gift Max points. Sore loser as always!
Sure, he could have called Max a stinky Dutchman in the first half of his statement and I would still complement the second half of it.

I cringe a bit when people celebrating Russells podium as a genuine podium when we haven't really raced. You can celebrate the points, what it does to the constructors standing and all that. It was a good qualifying by him, but to celebrate this as a 'podium' seems quite a bit wierd to me.

When I've gone to events that ended up ultimately being canceled because of rain or some other natural occurrence fans got their money back.

Yeah, it seems like that to me.
