I think this FP3 is not representative at all, I think Q will be different... crazy data and times let's see how teams and drivers manage it, but 0,8s to Hamilton? not buying it.

Wasn't Lewis doing his longruns today whilst everyone else was doing quali runs on different tyres? He basically just had that one shot and from what i can tell did not even go for a second flyer on that set. Probably a mix of lack of running (unaccustomed to the track) and not risking too much (going back to the previous point) - not the best idea to fire the car into the barries like Carlos.

Apart from T3, it’s pretty much even stevens. Merc must find an answer there to put up a fight.

In Q we’re probably going to see a lot of overdriving in 8 and 9. The old part of the circuit is very “natural” feeling, all the way including 7. Not much you can do except “follow” the car. The section from 8 up to 12 is the new part, very technical and all with relative slow entries then you feel they could, but, if you do, massive understeer and just praying to get grip.
Doing a lap, you have this high coming out 7 “I’m alive!”, frustrated until you hit that dust patch on the curb before 13 “nailed it” and before they banked the last corner, holding your breath for the closing walls on the last corner.

Turn seven is one of my all time favourites by the way. In a touring car, you come over the top out of slotermakers, car goes very light, you have to try to brake just before that, turning in when the car is light, when perfect you start sliding a bit, waiting on the car compressing before the apex, gripping and put on full throttle before the apex, slinging you round a almost blind bend.
What I saw in a F1 car, it’s short off throttle 😂

Seems to me it`s like a Monaco strategy race here: some 80 to 90% car setup towards qualy and running a longer first stint as possible for a 1 stop race. With just one caveat though: this could be a higher chance of an SC, thus teams should take this into account and be very responsive tactically, bearing in mind here they lose minimal time at the pitstops (some 15-16 sec at average )

So.. What is the reason for Max escaping penalty? This is luck or corruption this time?

The loop hole for slowing down needs to be looked at by the FIA immediately after the race. You just cant have people overtaking after redflags because they say they need time to "slow down." That time to slow down needs to be put in black and white. Lucky. Boy. Anyway. Onto qualifying.

Odds on at least one red flag in qualifying?

Rear right punctures tomorrow? Drivers are abusing the dirt on corner exit and as they all continue doing it, the dirt gets thrown out and a deeper cliff / sharper edge emerges.

Could add up over a race distance.
