So the guy out of the title fight, and leaving the team is hard done by for giving up a chance at the fastest lap ?
If you don't want to him to go fastest lap, don't pit him for soft tyres with two laps to go! Soft tyres with two laps to go are inherently fast, wouldn't you say? :)

No wonder Bottas was baffled about that! "Why not?"
Well they obviously saw vibrations and pitted for safety as they had the room. Easiest thing would be to leave him out, but they chose to stop him and be sure.

They saw vibrations, while Bottas himself didn't feel it. Amazing.

That, and another thing to cover would be that Max retakes the fastest lap and Lewis cannot respond (and does not pit) on worn tires. Then they have Bottas take fastest lap away from Max.

Here's a question for anyone to answer, Nico Rosberg just looked at Norris and Perez, and he said "Sergio is in front going in, so it's his right to have space there"

Yet isn't it now that if you are ahead on the inside you can run the other guy off the track. Like Max first did to Leclerc in Austria and many other drivers have done since.

It seems still even ex drivers dont know whats what.

The race should have been red flagged last lap and half points given, visibility was worse than last week

It is all hindsight. Would be have maintained those 2s advantage after 7-8 laps? Not really. 1 think is clear - The softs were a top class racing tyre & so were the mediums. Although Max did well, the Hards were disappointment. The softs held up well.

Overtaking was absolutely possible even from the outside of Tarzan. We have many many overtakes. 2 Stopper was definitely quicker by a decent margin. Hamilton or someone else could even have tried a 3 stopper with 2 Mediums (if they had) & 2 Softs but I am not sure if that is quicker than a 2 Stopper.

There's nothing between RB & Mercedes. Hamilton was like 3-4s behind after going long on the Mediums (faulty call) in a 70 lap race. That like 0.04 like not even half a tenth. And that is while following a car & losing time. You can argue Max managed it or toned it down but if Lewis would be ahead with track position, then Mercedes would have finished 3-4s ahead or even more.

Max benefited from a great qualy run. RB & Mercedes have like 1 or 2 tenths here n there between then. Monza should favour Mercedes who have the best PU easily. Williams with their massive wing were doing close to 310 while RB was struggling to do that even with slipstream ! But I don't think Mercedes will be more than 1 or 2 tenths ahead in Monza. This season will go into the wire. If Perez gets up there in qualifying & stars becoming a factor in the race, it will help RB & Verstappen much more. There's only 9 races left. 1 Tyre blow up or 1 accident - and everything is turned upside down.

Car's width. Track was a wide enough. Perez had just trying to move past & Norris was literally pushing him off. He got lucky. Should have been a 5-10s penalty. It is not copse corner but that was not a fair move @ all !

So why not penalise Max in Austria ?

The way they race these days, neither were a penalty, but Nico was saying Perez had the right to space. SO why didnt that apply to Leclerc in 2019 ?

While I don't know if Bottas felt the vibrations or not, it's not always about amplitude of the vibration. Some frequencies are more critical than others. Only the Merc engineers would know what vibrations were seen and which ones were critical to avoid.

Attacking vs defending driver. It is not just position on track.

Ps: the way how Bottas is treated by his team... it's disgusting.
Then you have no idea how F1 works. No idea at all. I guess thats why you have a -8 next to your name.
Man, shut up.
That was very impolite and totally unnecessary.

Not sure what to say. But only a three point lead in the championship.

The friendship between Max and Lewis seem to be rekindled.

I hope his fans follow his stead.
Lewis got big cheers during the interview...

Please stop beating this dead non-horse.😒

Similarly, why not penalize Lewis for 2014 moves where he constantly pushed Nico off? How far back do we want to back in time?

Verstappen was toying with the Mercedes. He was just cruising around and still maintained his lead, and won the race by 20 seconds.
