Did anyone notice that Bottas let Max past too easily? Great number two driver, huh?
O_O

What are you talking about?
At the beginning of straight line, Max was like 0,1s behind Bottas. In DRS era, in that case, driver in front can do literally nothing to defend himself. It's no brainer.
Straight lines?! You don't back people up in straight lines in F1... :!: Are you sure you are OK? Unf? I am seriously concerned here. :o you know what. I'm calling the ambulance. Where you at bro? Sit tight. They're coming! they coming! :o

Jokes aside. Bottas had a bunch of opportunites to make his car as big as possible throught pretty much every else except the straights and the carrousell.

Great race, quite an interesting little circuit! Personally, I feel like these are the best races in F1, it was a proper race up at the front, even if there wasn't lots of wheel-to-wheel action. Let's hope we get more of this, rather than the fake "exciting" races where everything goes to pot and we get some also-ran getting their first and last win.

It seems pretty clear this is Max's WDC to lose, the Red Bull has the edge on every type of circuit. It's certainly close, but I'd say the RB is at least a couple of tenths quicker than Merc.

I'd say its kind of harsh to say its Max's to lose right now considering he still has engine penalties to take and it still seems circuit dependant on which car is the fastest. If he wins 2 of the next 3 races it is fair to say its his championship to lose though.

I'd disagree on the circuit dependant part, the Red Bull has been fast everywhere, they've lost quite a few races through errors and accidents.

It's been going back and forth quite a bit car-wise. RB perhaps had the overhand since Austria, but then lost it after the tire change following Baku, which seemed to make.the RB more erratic. Perhaps recent upgrades fixed that, but we've not seen enough to say that. Monza may well be an MB-game, at this point, it's all open.

no he didn't, he was on old tires, Max was 8-9 laps in on his, Max was 0.5-0.7sec behind him for a lap or so when he ran wide (old tires) and that was all Max needed to get him in the next DRS zone

the thing is, track like this, with lots of camber in turns, you don't suffer as much when you go for clean air off the ideal line, so Max could easily stay with the car in front, and did I say it already - Bottas tires were shot, there was a radio message from him 5-6 laps before (and the message was probably couple laps old already) that he is suffering from big vibration, yet team didn't bother to pit him hoping he will roadblock Max, yet few laps from the end they pit him for "no apparent reason", oh, sorry, due to safety reasons - vibration, which we didn't even hear a message from him about...

and that message to him when he was supposed to hold Max up - this is it, you're racing for win! I mean, even the commentators kept silent about that one...

great race, RB beat Merc clear cut, and if not that DRS malfunction on Maxes car in quali, would have been 0.15-0.25sec margin instead of those few hundredths

If i was Bottas i would have gone full beans on that fastest lap. What would Merc do? Fire him?

It would be remembered in the paddock, and professionalism is high on the list of requirements for a top drive.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Where were the red flags?! No carnage, no crashes apart from PER and NOR colliding. Curious to see that all FP's and Qualy was full of red flags and in the race none. Was everybody driving too cautious?

A very clean race, nice track. Race wise it could have been better, overtaking was only possible with a significant tire advantage.

Bottas is 3rd in the drivers championship. This shows how much a better car Mercedes is. Mercedes still have a comfortable margin over RBR and it is Max that is making all the difference. If Max was in that Mercedes, the championship would be over.

Backing up Max? that didn't exist in Bottas' vocabulary. It is times like these when a LOYAL number 2 is needed (George are you listening?). Let's not even talk about the final stops. Bottas with his fastest lap was a blatant statement, in action if not in words, that he is not about to roll over. "Number 2 my bocht!" should be the subtitle of his race.
Can’t believe that at this point you’re actually trying to dismiss the job of one of the most loyal number two drivers ever. In fact, his number two driver skills are the only reason Mercedes have happily kept him. There is almost nothing more Lewis could have wished for from a teammate.

Not sure what to say. But only a three point lead in the championship.

The friendship between Max and Lewis seem to be rekindled.

I hope his fans follow his stead.
Lewis got big cheers during the interview...

Please stop beating this dead non-horse.😒

Wow. Just wow. Do you have proof of this, or has the ayahuasca not worn off yet? 🙄

This has no bearing on anything at all.

If Lewis was in the redbull, the championship would be over, it is easy to make unquestionable statements.
