I think RBR are setting Verstappen up 100% for race pace over single lap pace here. I think he'll take an engine and Perez won't.
How did he look in the speed traps ? Race pace means nothing if you have no top speed at Monza. If he can't overtake, he will be screwed.
Not a clue, to be honest! I'm sure someone will know. There's no way that was genuine pace today if they aren't doing something substantially different to everyone else.

Is this going to be a night qualifying? It’s already close to 6 p.m. local time. And the pre-shows indicate poor daylight

Interesting that despite not classifying well, Amazon sector analysis showed that Lando and Danny were second and third fastest. Very keen to see how/whether this plays out in Qualifying.

No chance of night sessions at Monza, not unless they fit the cars with headlights

Right. Before the inevitable moaning which always comes up and seems exclusively limited to just Mercedes about who gets the tow and team orders, it's been made clear from multiple sources- IT'S HAMILTON'S TURN THIS WEEKEND.

I've often wondered how Bottas does so poorly when it comes to the coin flip at the beginning of the year that determines who gets to choose at the first race.

Thoughts on the Parabolica rename?

I’m all about honoring people, but renaming Parabolica, which as an English speaker, is a really cool sounding word, seems a bit much.

Toto has a dodgy double tailed coin that only Hamilton knows about ;)

(Someone will probably actually believe that....)

I think its a 1 off for Alboreto, 20th anniversary from his death. Will be renamed bac to Parabolica after this I believe.

What are the rules on engine modes for this qualifying? Are teams allowed to change them or do they have to keep them the same from now on?

Oh got it. That’s a gesture I can get behind.

They can't change them from what I understand.
