So Bottas will take a 10 place penalty ?
Not in the sprint.. penalties don’t even consider them “real” races
It’s a race, and points are awarded, but it’s not a race.

Oh, F1…
Hell I’m struggling to consider this real qualifying either..

Red Bull showing their true pace now. They've clearly been sandbagging up until now.
Lol, more like a perfectly timed double tow for Max, and Merc not using the tow at all!
Exactly. They are .4s off I’d say. But it was what was needed to get ahead of the MCL35s
Spot on!

That's a great lap from Bottas.

Props to Giovanazzi as well!

Very good job by Bottas, finally. He should have been released earlier.

Making use of a double tow from Gasly and Perez.
That just ensures Perez gets a decent time (which didn't work), the "double" tow doesn't benefit Max.
Yes it does. The man he is getting a tow from is a bit quicker on the straights because he himself is getting a tow.
That's not really how it works, it's not a literal tow with a rope #-o

Seems like the plenum cooling has quite a big effect.

Great lap from Bottas. The irony that Gasly benefitted from the RBR/AT towing game. Norris very close to upsetting Max.

T1 tomorrow is going to be "fun".

Faster here, slower elsewhere. It's not unusual - even the mighty Mercs struggled in the past at some circuits. e.g. Singapore.

Even with the best tow all weekend, Max is still a touch behind Lewis.
The tow isn't worth the deficit they just clawed back in Q3.
Do you have the data to support that statement?
I can't see the results for Q2, but there were more than 7 tenths back, I think it was more than a second.
