I suspect some over driving to make up for the car’s performance. Leclerc has certainly yeeted his fair share of Ferrari’s too. Monaco cost them dearly on many fronts.

Ok, that makes sense. ThanksNL_Fer wrote: ↑11 Sep 2021, 14:33The front wing already diverts the flow away from the front tires to prevent turbulence. The rear tires are to much to the back to distort any important air flow. The badge boards also divert flow away from the rear tires, directing it to the wing/diffuser area.Stormblessed wrote: ↑11 Sep 2021, 13:19I understand that part about pressure difference over and under the car is important to maximize downforce levels. But wouldn't this wobble cause disruption in airflow near the tires, thereby causing issues with airflow/pressure over the car floor?
ok, Brundle I believe was claiming he was to far back!Juzh wrote: ↑11 Sep 2021, 14:03He did? He was a bit further back than most, but he did. It was his choice anyway how far back he wanted to be.

Not to Mention COTA and Abu dhabi have been happy stomping ground for Merc for a while. Imo, Abu dhabi was a fluke last year, they turned the engines down as they didn't want the negative press of a PU going pop.Restomaniac wrote: ↑11 Sep 2021, 14:39Brazil’s a weird one as after turn 12 that massive long, long left turn up the hill and over the start-finish screams Yippee for Mercedes.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑11 Sep 2021, 14:30Turkey, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Abudhabi certainly look like RedBull Tracks.
Sochi, and whichever TBC tracks comes are the only hopes Mercedes has.
here are also the gaps (hand stopped) to the car ahead at the start of the final Q3 run:Juzh wrote: ↑11 Sep 2021, 14:03He did? He was a bit further back than most, but he did. It was his choice anyway how far back he wanted to be.

Considering that in races when a car is struggling to pass and has to drop back to preserve their tyres, they usually drop back to around 3 seconds. This must be the sweet spot in terms of not losing much in the corners, but still gain some on the straights.search wrote: ↑11 Sep 2021, 15:32here are also the gaps (hand stopped) to the car ahead at the start of the final Q3 run:Juzh wrote: ↑11 Sep 2021, 14:03He did?
