I think the team get a replica that they can keep in the trophy cabinet. That happens in a lot of sports, usually a smaller version.

Many sports have a rule that when you win a trophy three times, you get to keep it. Is there an equivalent in F1? I'm guessing not…

Records which can either be broken or be matched by Mercedes this season:

1. Most wins in a season
If they win the remaining 3 races, they'll have 16. McLaren had 15 in 1988, likewise Ferrari in 2002 and 2004.

2. Most pole positions in a season
Because of Austria, they can now only match Red Bull's record of 18 poles in 2011.

3. Most podiums in a season
Ferrari had 29 in 2004. Mercedes currently has 26, this one is likely in the bag.

4. Most kilometers lead in a season
Mercedes are currently at 4,103 km. McLaren lead 4,622 km in 1988.

5. Most 1-2 finishes in a season
Mercedes currently have 9 with 3 races to go. McLaren had 10 in 1988.

6. Most front row lockouts in a season
Mercedes currently have 9. McLaren had 12 in 1988. They can still match this record.

7. Most consecutive 1-2 finishes
They've already matched Ferrari's 2002 record of 5 (Malaysia 'till Monaco).

8. Most consecutive front row lockouts
They have locked out every front row since Belgium (5 in a row). Has anyone ever done better? I'm uncertain.

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

In 1992 Williams locked out the front row 7 times in a row: San Marino, Monaco, Canada, France, Great Britain, Germany & Hungary.

Those records need to be adjusted to account for the number of races in the season. Percentages would be better.

By all means this team should have been 1-2 in every single race. As much as the races are a forgone conclusion barring reliability, their utter dominance still has me in awe at each race.

Thanks.

Mercedes now have 6 in a row: Belgium, Italy, Singapore, Japan, Russia, and USA.

True. I'll convert the WO5's statistics into percentages as soon as the season is over.

Already matched this record, and they will likely beat it in Abu Dhabi.

Will likely be matched in Abu Dhabi.
3. Most podiums in a season

Has been beaten. Mercedes now have 30 podiums.
4. Most kilometers lead in a season
Mercedes are currently at 4,103 km. McLaren lead 4,622 km in 1988.
They've beat this record too. Mercedes now have lead 4,696 km.
5. Most 1-2 finishes in a season
Mercedes currently have 9 with 3 races to go. McLaren had 10 in 1988.
Beat this record, now have 11 one-twos.
6. Most front row lockouts in a season
Mercedes currently have 9. McLaren had 12 in 1988.
They can still match this record if they lock out the front row in Abu Dhabi.
7. Most consecutive 1-2 finishes
They've already matched Ferrari's 2002 record of 5 (Malaysia 'till Monaco).
Not only that, they could match it twice in one season if they get a one-two in Abu Dhabi.
8. Most consecutive front row lockouts
They have locked out every front row since Belgium (5 in a row). Has anyone ever done better? I'm uncertain.
Williams hold the record with 7 consecutive front row lockouts in 1992. Mercedes have matched them this season (Belgium - Brazil) and could go one better in Abu Dhabi.

They´ve also beaten the most points ever in a season-record, previously held by Red Bull (2011, 650 points)
They have 651 currently with one race to go.

This is probably old news, but Susie Wolff clearly did such a spectacular job in her FP1 run outs that she has left Williams for a reserve role at Mercedes...

Impressive stats from the team. Definitely could have been maximum points from every single race this year as well. Not sure if previous years were like that.

What will that raise to if they take 1-2 in the last race?
