8 teams within 1 second.

Staring to look like last year. Very close. Every little development will count, and teams that look fast now, with poor development, will tank fast by half season.

I am getting excited already, and two weeks away.

Restart afer red flag caused by Kovalainen. Three minutes to the checkered flag. Quali sims by everyone!

Two laps and another red flag concludes the running in the 2010 pre season testing.

16:02 That red flag might've been a bit of timing system confusion, as the screens at Catalunya now say chequered flag instead.

16:01 Even before the session was stopped, the sector times suggested no one was going for a low fuel flier.

McLaren are practicing pitstops.
Hope he sets a blinder early on, Just in case of weather problems later.Im dying to see the mclarens true pace.. [-o<
Only Button can show the true pace of the Mclaren. Hamilton will make the car look better than it actually is. The competition is looking pretty tight, but that is when driver ability comes through.

That's why our lap count are slightly different.

I wonder how did you count the mileage. There you have wrong numbers I guess.

Let's take Massa (we have the same number of laps):

Total 851 laps = 226 laps at Valencia (4,005 km per lap) + 232 laps at Jerez I (4,428 km) + 164 at Jerez II (4,428 km) + 229 at Barcelona (4,655 km)

Total mileage = 905,130 km (Valencia) + 1027,296 km (Jerez I) + 726,192 km (Jerez II) + 1065,995 km (Barcelona) = 3724,613 km

How did you get 3726,903 km?

Last year's Q3 Pole lap was a 1:20.527, that was on a two stopper, if this is the best they can do running on fumes then they succeeded in slowing the cars down a bit.

The only driver to get under 1:20 was Barichello during Q2, also he had the fastest lap of the race a 1:22.762

My Massa figures:

Test 1: Distance: 905.130 Laps: 226 @ 4.005 Km a lap
Test 2: Distance: 960.876 Laps: 217 @ 4.428 Km a lap
Test 3: Distance: 726.192 Laps: 164 @ 4.428 Km a lap
Test 4: Distance: 1,068.285 Laps: 229 @ 4.665 Km a lap

I think its my Barcelona lap distance that is the difference.

I have looked into who caused red flags.

Image

There were a total of 53 red flags in 15 days of running.
Rubens Barrichello was the red king with 8 flags.
Petrov was best rookie with 0 flags.
Liuzzi and Alguersuari also covered a lot of ground without causing a red flag.
Kovalainen, Di Grassi and Glock were clearly fighting with Gremlins.
On average we had a red flag every 239 laps.
Kubica, Schumacher and Hamilton ran 600-750 laps/red flag.
Barrichello, Rosberg and Webber had significantly above average red flags without good excuse.
Kobayashi confirmed the rookie crash trend of Japanese drivers.
