I am still quite optimistic but hard to tell.

Let's get a clean Lando lap for confidence before qualifying.

It looks tight for pole. Can't say we are the favourites.

Ferrari, Merc and the Bulls are fastest in 1 sector each. Mclaren not quite hitting the peaks yet, but it's very close.

Drivers may be the difference again,

Q3 is mega important here.

Mclaren has a good shot at pipping pole by being good enough in every sector. in my opinion

Who cares about poles. Charles has almost 30 of them with only 7 wins. They need to win races not qualifying.

Everyone has a good shot I think.

Why specifically Mclaren?

It was the same in Monza and yet Mclaren got the 1-2 easily. I would say to wait for Qualifying. We havent had a normal lap without getting compromised yet.

race will be all about who got balance of downforce and speed right, so I think Q3 less important here than most - 2 cars in top 5 with a good race car id be happy

No one mentioned pole.

But naturally the further forward you start the better your chances, no matter how Charles might have not converted.

People were talking about McLaren getting pole and I just mentioned that it doesn’t really matter. To win championships they need to win the races. Max has more wins from Charles poles than Charles has wins. It’s sad really, but pushing the car hard to a position it cannot keep on the race doesn’t do you any good and especially in a track like Baku, there will be chances in the race if the cars have pace tomorrow.

I think.one person said pole at some point but the conversation before and after was about position.

We could be 1st to.8th again and good Q3 is critical to a good race result.

Getting a tow will be crucial. I think our drivers didn't get best of tows and still they are very high.

It often gets talked about but rarely happens as it is hit and miss, but we'll see how we go. First Q3 lap, we might see it. Probably not on the last Q3 lap for Mclaren. They may give it a practise before.

If the margins are tight then a mistake on a track like this can cost a lot.
