If it's not the Alternator then it's the Fuel..Same problem with Hamilton in Montmelo..
So Vettel will start from the back of the Grid , Interesting ..This Should help Fernando to take the Lead ! :)

for what!! if he has enough fuel for tests why should get a penalty? :wtf:
Hamilton had enough fuel for his test, that's not the rule they will be punished for. You still have to make it back to the pits under your own power and failure to do so means disqualification from qualifying unless you are given dispensation by the FIA due to circumstances outside your control. The FIA didn't give that dispensation to Hamilton in Barcelona as it was a human mistake rather than a random act of bad luck.

Either way it doesn't look like it's fuel that's the issue, if Red Bull's first statements about it being Renault asking them to shut the car down are true. They have form about being shady about these things though, so who knows...

The car must return to perc feme under its own power.

And yes it doesn't matter who calls for the car to be stopped, but it could be that something has been seen and the car stopped before failure.

It does however look dodgey with the gearbox going from 3rd to Neutral as A.Davidson spotted... its AWESOME love it when things get complicated

Hamilton stopped after qualifying exactly for this reason - to have enough fuel for the required sample and he was thrown at the back of the grid. I am by no means a Hamilton fan, but let's see if there is a chance for consistency in applying penalties. Let's see if wonder boy gets to see the back of the cucumber.

Hamilton didn't have enough fuel. He had 1.3l for the FIA check it needs to be in total 3l , 0.5l for check and 2.5l minimum after last lap or at least it is what it said this article

If it's an alternator issue then are they allowed to change alternators in parc ferme?

Did Alonso make a mistake in his last Q3 run? He seemed to be the only one to not make an improvement. We all it's Hamilton's race unless McLaren screws it up. Vettel looks good enough for a P2(if no penalties off course). Alonso will have to make a storming start and overtake 3 cars at least in lap1 if he has any intention of challenging the RBRs.

Does anyone else feel it's becoming a walk in the park for Vettel? :?

"Renault asking them to pull over and shut down the car" is a typical Horner / RBR bulls**t.
"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe." Murray Walker, San Marino 1985

We shall see if there is consistency in ruling this matter, lets hope the technical regulation wins out. After all if we cannot follow the rules that govern us...then why bother listening to them in the first place?

Alonso is also being investigated for unsafe release. But that'll most likely result in a fine for the team. So he should be safe.

The strange thing is that he has been Told to stop the car rather than stoping it on his own ( A bit Different from The Lewis Case ) :|

In fact its Grosjean/Lotus being investigated as Alonso left his garage first.

That was Grosjean and Alonso. No further action.
