Re: Mercedes GP W02

Good session if you are a MSC fan not so good from a Mercedes fan point of view.

The track got rubbered in & got more grip as time progressed. Michael's Super-soft run took place 10 mins before Nico & he had a major KERS problem. Still he got 1.47.837 to Nico's 1.47.831.

Now the sad part is Webber clocked 1.46.081 to top the practise which is like 1.7-1.8s slower. Worse Vettel did not get a clear run because of the traffic. So in reality Mercedes is almost 2 full seconds down on pole. MSC-NICO were slower on the super-soft than Red Bull on softs.

Singapore & Suzuka is probably going to Mercedes's worst track. 7-8th is the best possible,6-7th if Massa messes up.

I remain convinced that Vettel is the fastest around Singapore. His best sectors stringed together were 1:46 in FP3.

He does look very strong. Not sure what happen to his sector 2 timing during his first run on super soft. Mark look strong too. If RBR can block out the front row, then Vettel will have good chance of winning the WDC tomorrow.

He may be holding a little back. No one wants to bin their car in Saturday practice. As I said earlier the walls are going to be a bit of an equalizer. jmho
Who will be the first to really clock their car into a wall?

It's still practice, last year Vettel did a 1:46.6 in practice, and Alonso went on to do a 1:45.3 to take pole.

Now with Lewis's puncture, does he get a replacement set for the race?

I was wondering that, but I'm sure he has to just go into the race 1 set down. But didn't Rosberg get a replacement set at a recent GP because his was damaaged?

Confirmation that he won't be getting a new set, his race is screwed then.
